Or Betis wait and he blows out his knee during the tourney, and then they’re on the hook for his bumped up salary while he sits in rehab.

I'm not sure if it's the same at the Copa America, but players who get injured at International tournaments are usually insured by the competition organizers. FIFA put aside $134M that could be used for this purpose at the last world cup.

I do wonder if a team like Betis prefers to get players in before letting Lo Celso go. The inflation from selling clubs knowing they just secured 50M+ isn't insignificant for a club like them. They don't rake in millions every year so saving a few million by getting players in before Lo Celso's deal leaks is probably in their best interest. May be why it's so quiet on him right now.

But then again if they signed 50m worth of players and he didn’t go, they’d be buggered

There was reports yesterday from a couple outlets they had a bid that is either less than or more than ours (depending on which bid you believe) that was rejected.

I am either less than or more than confident that he will join us over them.

I'd be terrified to join a Simeone club if I was an attacking midfielder.

For some reason both he and NDombele have Dave Sanchez vibes to their recruitment. I think we get them both, wildly enough.

Can't see why Atletico would look at lo Celso as a replacement for Griezmann? Griezmann is a striker

Not only that but they have been heavily linked with a move for that Felix kid to replace Griezmann.

It would be embarrassing for Spurs to miss out on Ndombele and Lo Chelso now. We've pinned our colours to the mast and said, "These are the players we are after...."

If we don't now secure their respective services, how's it going to look to the football world? Embarrassing.

No way we don't get them both.
