I see in Twitter that Betis fans are resigned to losing Lo Celso this summer. But most hold a view that Betis should wait to sell till Copa America is done. He is part of the Argentina squad and very much in XI nowadays. If he has good tournament they see his value getting inflated to 100m with more clubs interested.

IMO, we got to get this done before Copa America starts on 16 June. Highly optimistic I know, but we got to do it. Argentina are playing fucking Qatar in their group and tournament goes on till 1st week of July. If he is the one to replace Eriksen, we better get it done sooner rather than later.

Qatar in Copa America? Wtf is that shit about?

Someone mentioned to me that if he does sign and if it is as an Eriksen replacement it may signal us moving to 433 - is this the case or sound plausible does anyone know ?

Yes.

I should add. We’ll need better FBs

Does it matter how good he is at the Copa America? He has a set release clause doesn't he?
Fuck I hadn't thought about that. Just what's missing now, isn't it, he sets the world alight in the copa and becomes 30% more expensive..

Definitely but Rose in the left would work nicely. If we could get Sess and a quick, direct FB I could see a 433 becoming another formation we could use. I think the key here is we can use a range of formations between and within games

It does matter if he has good tournament & Betis hold firm for the release clause to be paid (88m£).

Yeah I get that however my point was in reference to you saying on page 38 that if he has a good Copa America they hope his value could hit 100m! So to my point if that's what they are waiting for it really doesn't matter how good he is because frankly they won't get above his release clause.

The Release fee is the maximum that will be paid for Lo Celso, €88 million if I recall correctly

Why would anyone pay more than the value of the release fee? Even if other teams wanted him, they all go in at the same price and let the player decide

Papers and club fabricating the actual release fee! It has too many clauses to justify how the actual target fee, expected to be 80m Euros transpires. With various diversions if he stays, plays ‘x’ games, achieves ‘x’, then club can demand closer to 100m euros. But as things stand I am told that the fee is nearer 80m euros. Him asking for a transfer will not reduce the fee.

We now have to wait and see. My opinion is it will happen. Betis are not rich!

His agent is not hiding how he's coming to us. He seems to be telling everyone who will listen. Not publicly but still.
