El Tottenham, by Lo Celso
  • The English set puts 60 million euros to sign the Argentine
The Tottenham wants to Giovani Lo Celso . As you have been able to know this newspaper, the whole London has already put 60 million euros on the table by the Argentine, a player who has closely monitored during the season. Mauricio Pochettino, coach of the London team, knows perfectly the attacker of Betis and understands that his incorporation would be key for next season.

While waiting to play the Champions League final, Tottenham knows that it will be difficult to retain any of their figures such as the Danish Christian Eriksen, who is on the agenda of Real Madrid, so he wants to keep his back with the hiring of his substitute before negotiating the millionaire sale of Danish, who ends contract in 2020 and has not wanted to renew his relationship.

The first rapprochement of Tottenham has not been accepted by Betis, which presses to obtain a greater amount. After executing the purchase option for the Argentine in Holy Week, the club of Verdiblanco raised to 100 million the clause of rescission, which aims to obtain a figure close to it. The Betis paid 22 million, which were added to the three paid for the transfer, although 20% of the added value also belongs to the PSG.

Al Betis would like to stay with Lo Celso at least one more season, but the fact of not competing in European competition means that the future of the Argentine is further away from Heliopolis. Although the attacker has expressed his satisfaction with his year in green, and with his perfect adaptation to the city, the interest of Tottenham, with his compatriot Pochettino to the front, would change the opinion of Lo Celso, who, at least, would leave a good amount of millions in the Betic coffers.
Betis are not the most well off of clubs so I would be surprised if they turned that down unless they are really hoping they can hold out one more year and get more. Maybe if ManU are really interested in Junior they plan to make their money there?

Hope we get him and it's not a flailing deal.

But I want Ndombele and I'm scared this means we're not getting him.

If Eriksen goes you need players of both calibers because in all likelihood at least one of them will fail. Not saying we can afford both but that should be the plan.

Lo Celso has been playing in a similar way to Fekir recently, at least from what I've seen in that false 9 position. Be interested to know if we are looking at both.

Sounds like we would just use the fee from Eriksen and spend it on him.

That means that "technically" we can still afford him and Ndombele :woot:

I'd be interested to see him, Ndombele and winks/Sissoko in a midfield 3. Son on the left and Lucas on the right with Kane in the middle ahead of them. Get a proper RB in and that's a solid 11 imo. Obviously losing Eriksen will be a big set back, so we have to do all that we can to get players like this in. If we wait a year I don't see us getting him at all. Betis will be reluctant to sell him this year though, for obvious reasons

Different type of players
Yeah I agree - Lo Celso would be more of an Eriksen replacement but if we're in negotiations that would mean we'd be certain that Eriksen will be leaving. Doesn't seem like Madrid have stepped up their interest and/or given up on Pogba.

Never been more visible, consecutive years in CL, stadium done, sponsorship deals in the pipeline.

Agree it’s been said before but it is different.

Prize money must be through the roof this year as well.

Very intrigued to see how we would set up if we signed Ndombele and Lo Celso. Both players suited to a three man midfield, but neither could play at the base. Sissoko can't really either.

If anything, we need two CMs plus the Eriksen replacement which could be Lo Celso.

Don't get me wrong Ndombele would be great, but I think I would prefer Diawara because he would be capable of playing both a holding role and in a double pivot. Ndidi would be another good alternative if we've got money to throw about.

Another video - interviewer pronounces his name Lo Selso while speaking to Giovanni Lo Celso.

Maybe I am wrong, but doubt it considering Lo Celso seems to be an italian last name and if so, the letter C is pronounced like a CH. That video shows a french guy, who may be wrong in his spelling. Who knows, have heard Lo Chelso everytime he's been mentioned everywhere and never ever doubted it until I read about the debate here. Hopefully, if he signs for Spurs he will explain it himself like Toby did :)

Feck me. I could almost forgive our lack of activity in the past two windows if we were to sign both Celso and Ndombele.

Add to this a decent RB/CB if Trippier and Alderweireld are to leave, and a couple of prospects like Clarke and co.

Dream...Maybe. But by feck, I'd be itching for the 19/20 season to start.

If we lose Vic I'd like someone like Diarawa or Berge alongside Ndombele (ideally).

Copa América 2019 is being played in the coming weeks and Gio is bound to have plenty of minutes, so maybe Betis want to wait and see if he has a good tournament and can ask for more money to sell.

Yes Berge also fits with that criteria. We're lacking a holding player with ability on the ball. Only Winks is good enough and capable enough to fill that role for us at the moment.

Berge, Ndombele and Lo Celso in with Eriksen, Wanyama out is about as good as we can expect and would give us great balance. Difficult to see all three arriving though.
