And maybe Davies (who I actually rate) if Rose remains.

I'll get pelters for this but press talk this morning suggests that Delph could be available for £15mil, and he could do the job of Wanyama, Dier & Davies.

Laugh away, the guy is underrated.

Agreed there will be immense snobbery about Delph but he's not a bad player. Bit of a Milner type in that he works hard and can cover multiple positions. I wouldn't be against it but only really as a last resort.

One thing you could say though is that he's been part of a winning culture at City and that kind of experience is very valuable.

I expect he'll end up at a club like Everton or Bournemouth though

We need an upgrade on Wanyama and, arguably, Lamela and even Dier.

Sorry to be pessimistic, but we are not going to sign 7/8 players to fill every single gap we have in the squad. Not in this window atleast.

If we had the midfield 4 I mentioned earlier, we have no need to keep Wanyama. He is the only one you mentioned that could leave and not leave another hole that would need to be filled.

We have to be very smart in our recruitment for this window, but I do agree that in the next 2/3 windows we need to replace or reinforce for each of those players.

They do however have a role to play at the club, especially Lamela and Dier. We can wait a window or two to get these problems fixed, will also allow us to see if Dier's injury will reappear or not.

The only position we need an "upgrade" on is RB, the rest of the squad just needs to be added too. So it's not really upgrading that's needed, it's quality squad depth.

I don't know why so many people want us to replace players when the squad is bare as it is.
I think we need 2 CMs, other than that I don't see any emergencies.

Eriksen would potentially need replacing if he goes, but I believe we have adequate cover for Toby.

Adequate cover for Toby?? Sanchez has degreased. Foyth is a liability still and dier doesn’t want to be a defender and no way near Toby’s level.

Unfortunately we can’t rely on jan playing 40 games a season he always has a spell on the sidelines at some stage.

Not replacing Toby would be disastrous

That's a really good shout. How's his injury history? Too lazy to look it up but have a feeling he's been injured a lot.

And don't forget the added bonus that Delph would be less likely to injure our players if he's playing in the same team

Is that why we tried to sign Charlie Adam all those years ago?

Sanchez will improve with regular game time, we know what he can do. Dier can play there and that is his natural position imo.

Of course we could go and sign a CB but imo the other areas I mentioned are more important because we don't have the personel.

I think it’s prpbsbly either this guy or N’Dombele as the Dembele replacement.

Sissoko is in essence our Dembele replacement. Spurs official put up a highlight reel of Siss on Instagram, the man looks like Dembele in his prime which just goes to show how far along he has come this season.

But yes, I do think it will be one or the other and not both.

Not that we couldn't do with both, but financially speaking both will command big fees and I can't see us shelling out for both.

What if Eriksen leaves? Wouldn’t this guy be perfect for the Eriksen role?

Definitely dondo, he has the ability to play deep or further forward. Really special talent, if you get the chance to watch a highlight video of him (I know they can be deceiving, but do it.) you'll get an idea of how good he really is in the middle of the park.
