The thing to take from Hercs last post is that he is very keen therefore its all about negotiating with his club Real Betis, its not dependant on him being involved in convos , he has instructed his agent to get the deal done and his club are aware, so just clubs and his agent need to get to an agreement.

I'd never watched him "live" before until last night. He's a tidy footballer, bigger than I imagined (saw in YouTube clips) and most importantly worked hard. I don't remember him giving the ball away and I think would work well with both Delli and (if he stays) Eriksen.

He brings the ball forward well and is always looking up, although he probably passed to Messi too often but then again it is Messi who imo is GOAT*

*I know, I know he's not won anything internationally but he's just the best footballer I've ever seen grace a football pitch

We’re £17m apart from their valuation of him, just before he starts playing an internationally recognised tournament where he is bound to drum up interest or raise his valuation.

Why on earth would Betis sell him before that?
By making an offer they can't refuse and putting a deadline on it. That's what you do with your top targets. If he has a great tournament other clubs could come in.

He’s Real Betis’ player. They can refuse whatever offer they want. Imagine how we’d feel if we sold one of our top players before a major tournament?

If anyone is confused, this is the written version of me having an orgasm over the prospect of our midfield and attacking lineup next season.
