You're only saying that because you live there! :sneaky:;)

I've been to Brighton beach less since I've lived down this way, than when I lived in London.
Nothing really wrong with it, just not my kinda town.
Yep, not much for crayon eaters to be fair, for that try Worthing

There were at least 2 ITKs who said that neither Ndombele or Lo Celso was dependent on Eriksen being sold, and so far they have been correct. The dynamics of every transfer is going to be different so it would be naïve to think because Ndombele's came through relatively smoothly, then the others would follow in kind.
possibly, although the ' so far they have been correct' is a bit tenuous. I still think it is unlikely we will sign GLC if CE stays irresepective of finance- ie I think GLC is the intended replacement ,although I hope we are still thinking of signing a/n other for creative cover.

New article in Sevillian publication Estadio Deportivo, this time from a different journalist than Pepe Elias. No idea how reliable, but they are a local outlet for Real Betis news. Here's a rundown of the main points in the article, shamelessly nicked from Reddit user jason_lee_92:
  1. Personal deal done. 150k per week.
  2. Last meeting was last week in a local restaurant.
  3. There have been several conversations on the line after the meeting.
  4. The truth is Betis wanted 40m in the first place, but after our interest was revealed they abruptly raised it to 70m.
  5. So the result is still promising because both sides want to wrap up the talk.

People forgetting yes we got Ndombele done and he's in for pre-season, there's 10 days till it starts and no one else is in, and we are expecting at least 3 players in right?

What does that have to do with Lo Celso? Under no circumstances would he have started pre season with the rest of the group

Just picked any thread and no not directly at Lo Celso (understand the difficulty and delay) but other deals should be getting done soon. Having the players for pre season is where we have always fell short. Lets get them in this time and see how it changes things. Poch wants it too.

I've got my fingers crossed that Levy has successfully whittled the price down from what they had been demanding, and that this is just a local journo preparing Betis supporters for a lower fee than had previously been reported. I suppose it's also possible that Betis have dug their heals in believing that we'll pay whatever it takes for Poch's chosen Eriksen replacement. Either way the report seems promising as far as the deal eventually being concluded.

Bored intern making stuff up or bang on locally sourced info? Tempted to sway towards the latter. Sounds about right, seemed to be a breakthrough last week and things will heat up again when he's back from holiday. Same with Ceballos. Both are on holiday this week. Seemed things were similar with Ndombele.

Premier League teams have more money than the rest of Europe, the price automatically goes up.

Yeah there almost seems to be a courtesy to sell to non-PL teams for more reasonable pricing across Europe, especially Germany.

It’s the way of the world now, all PL clubs have to pay a premium. There isn’t a club in the country whose fans aren’t complaining about transfer price inflation.

I disagree. I think this more applies to Cellabos. If Eriksen stays he is going to need proper competition for his place, something that GLC should provide, and something that has been very lacking in our weak squad.

I agree with that, but not sure it will happen . If CE stays, we may have to consider a cheaper option

Keeps being mentioned that transfers out have no baring on this player coming in yet people continue to suggest otherwise. Not sure why people come on here if they aren't going to read what is written when it comes to info from those with knowledge of the situations.

They both will benefit from Lo Celso coming in, both will have competition from that. It'd be great for rotation and for giving every1 a reason to not let games pass them by.

We are also not prepared (or can't afford) to pay what they are asking.

I'm going to guess you mean can't afford (sorry if I have misread and not understood, happy to corrected) - I have no doubts we were ever going to go that high for him - thing is I doubt anyone was. A deal is there to be struck and the noise from those in the know has been for the most part still positive - even if we couldn't afford to offer the total they were looking for at the outset.
