yep good shout. No matter which striker we sign i now expect Bent to start. He needs competitive games, even if at first he isn't scoring, he will soon find his scoring boots and confidence in premiership matches for us. We are no mugs and we paid 16.5mil for a reason he will shine in the seasons to come. He is a top class finisher kind of in the mould of Andy Cole and given good service which he should now get from our new-look midfield he should soon repay his price-tag. + he is still young happy times!

He's answered his critics this pre-season. OK, it's been against weaker opposition, but the fact that he's scored so many shows that he has the ability. The goal he scored against Norwich (I think), where he was being pressurised by the goalie and a defender and he turned, cool as you like, and slotted it home. Class!

He needs games under his belt. And he fully deserves those games after the work he's put in.

Bent is one overpowering juggernaut.
There's one instance against Celtic when he had to fend off two players and then BOOM he accelerates into the opposition half.
This will be his season.

am just as excited about Bent this season as i am about Modric and Dos Santos. I think he will prove every one wrong (except us spurs fans who are ITK :wink.

How many goals does he need to score for people to accept he was worth it. Say if he plays 40 games this season? 20 goals do it?

Completely agree, I'd be pretty pissed off if Berba stayed and we still signed a striker to replace Bent.

Give the lad a proper chance, always rated him.

Every match, hah. He should definately start the season though. Very pleased with his workrate and attitude. He wont do the link up play that Berbatov and Keane did, but he doesn't need to. Just put the ball in the net Darren and you'll be loved at Spurs.

If we keep Berba i hope we dont sign another top quality center forward as Bent would probably be put on the bench (he would be in my team) would prefer to sign a younger 16-19 year old prodigy or a player as a back-up to berba and Bent.
If Berba leaves, I can Ramos saying "F-it you only live once" and sign Villa. Two lighting players with very different attributes.

He should definitely start the season up front. Even if we do sign p...chenko or someone else they will need time to adapt to the team and league, so bent should definitely start at least the first 5 PL games

Not really hypocrites, ive only changed my mind because keanes gone and berba is playing like a big girls blouse at the moment. Any replacements bought it will be in a new league so prolly should play straight up

First home game last season everyone's sledging Gardener after Evertons opener, then Tone scores and everyone's singing his nams.:rofl:
