The board were more for the reason we got 5th two seasons running. The board are the reason for making the money available for the management staff to spend. The board are the reason why we run a good ship @ Spurs and have made record profits over the last few years.

Things started shit for us this season. Big time shit. The football we've been playing is diabolical. Okay the board maybe made a mistake. The journo's picked up on it and took us to the cleaners. Levy tried to smooth it out with Jol but it's not worked. Jol's heart hasn't looked in it and he lost the dressing room.

I love Jol. Such a nice man & comes across very well! One of the few managers the general football fan would enjoy listening to and watching.

However, onwards and upwards. Things HAD to change and a clear out of Hughton & Jol was NEEDED. We couldn't continue our season like this.

Get behind the board and our Club.

Things WILL start to improve!

To be honest, any ill feeling ive got about Jol going is being is being outweighed by how pleased i am that Houghtons gone.

We need a complete coaching overhaul because judging by our defence the last 2 years, the current staff werent good enough.

Some fair points, but once Jol was undermined by Kemsley accidentally getting caught on purpose in Spain, Jol didn't really have much chance to turn things round...

We had a shit start last season, but he turned it round... I'd like to think if he hadn't been stabbed in the back, and with no uncertainty around the place he'd have been able to instill the confidence required to get us started...

Im gutted because he is such a nice fella, huge heart and wanted to be succesful, we all had a great relationship with him BUT he has never (chelsea apart) beaten a top side since he has been in charge we have found out on numerous occasions he is tatically inept and no match for the likes of wenger and co.

I had a benefit dinner with a client the other evening and Harry Redknapp was on our table, i grilled him bout spurs and he duly replied! He was offered the job last december and then we went on big unbeaten run so they stuck with jol but the reason they wanted him out before now and back then in december is because of his lack of work! he never goes to watch another game never the youth team or the reserves no games across europe or any in the prem league, apparently as soon as 1st team training is finished he is on his way home! Paul Kemsley speaks to harry most days and wanted him to take it but harry says he only wants to work for 2-3 more years so is happy to stick where he is.
he also mentioned that jol doesnt have a relationship with any other manager in prem league he says he is very private and never socialises??? just thought id pass it on.

They said David Moyes had lost the dressing room and hes still manager of Everton, with them doing very well. Clubs need stability in their managers, look at Man Utd & Arsenal both are doing very well due to their faith in their managers. And there has been times when the press have been calling for both Ferguson's and Wenger's heads. A good club needs to have the belief in their manager - not just getting rid of them when things don't go their way. Any frailties could have been sorted - we only gave the guy two years.

If you think that Everton are doing very well and thats the limit if your ambition for Spurs then I'm not suprised that you are against Jols dismissal. His level of achievement and yoiur level of ambition are matched.....extremely low.

if it was the board that got us the last two 5th finishes then why dont they take over instead of brining in someone else?

the board have done a good job for us, but you cant take away the credit that Jol should get for what he has done while he has been with us.

SHAME ON YOU....Tottenham Hotspur (The Scum who run the clup.....well....who ruin the club!)!
Jol may not have been Bill Nicholson BUT he made us happy and realise that we could, once again, climb to the top of the Premiership. Maybe he had taken us as far as he could BUT it is a cold day in our history. It may heat up and 2008 might proved to be the 'greatest' year so far this century.....but......I will not hold my breath just yet. The Board are 'flawed', it would appear and there will undoutably be a 'typical' Spurs mess until we 'conjour' up a successor....now or next season....I hope that a successor has been 'ear marked' or atleast decided upon. I somehow doubt it BUT....I remain to be proven wrong.
So, Farewell MJ....We should never forget you and what you tried to do for us....I, for one, THANK YOU from the very bottom of my heart.....A sad day at WHL....COYS!

They are doing better than us are they not. Which was my point. Also I wonder whether you think 5th place two years running is "low ambition". You are obviously in favour of complete instablity and our season going even more tits up than it already has done.

I'm fully behind the board and always have been, and I trust that they've made all the right decisions (bar their PR appointments).

Well at least everyone can move on now. BMJ can go and manage Ajax with Hughton and the board can bring in who they think can get us to the next level.

Its going to be a interesting week!

Good luck Martin

Hallelujah!! Someone seeing sense.

I am completely in the camp of supporting the club and not the manager, the board have been very good so far, they have supported their managers and made major investment in the team, they have put us in a VERY stable financial situation and have brought us unparalleled success in the Premiership so I don't think we can complain that they sack a manager for having the worst start imaginable despite spending 40m on players to build on a 5th place finish.

I support the club, I happen to trust the board and I could not give one shit about the staff that come and go. Tottenham til I die.
