I wish him all the luck, but I really don't think that he's going to make long or even mid term at Spurs. I know that Sheringham proved that you don't need pace to be a success, but he was an exception, because he was THAT good. Plus he did score a shit-load of goals to compensate.

I think the more he plays - for us - the better he'll get. We need to be patient and nurture.

Clearly not good enough... Only scored 3 in 6 at the end of last season and in his 20 minutes or so on Saturday only set up one goal...

I think he is a star in the making...I also can't believe there isn't more hype. In nearly every first team game he has played he has impressed. He looks a better player at a quality level rather than in Championship/League One.

He has a dangerous shot on him too. There is a reason Poch was happy to bring him on at such a crucial stage in the game on Sat

I think the pace thing is key. He also struggled to score at the beginning; it seemed that he missed a host of good chances, partly through bad luck.

It's noticeable that fans I know from other clubs either don't rate him at all or barely know him. I'm not clear whether that's because of the lack of hype or lack of pace, and I suspect it's both.

When given a run in the team last season he scored goals, he's already assisted our only goal this season. Given the right coaching and opportunities he will succeed.

I think Kane compares favourably to Sheringham at the same age. I wouldn't be at all surprised if he doesn't end up achieving a similar career.

Kane is still only just 21. Three years ago (when he appeared in EL campaign), I think most of us felt he was a yard too slow and a pound too heavy to make it to our first team. I expected him to be moved on. The fact that he's still with us, is still improving (and looking lean) and recently signed a new contract, suggests that the hierarchy at Spurs rate him and are seeing further potential.

Like Teddy, pace is never going to be his strong point. But he has similar attributes to Teddy, including height, an eye for goal, and a football brain. Clever players usually play well in better company and get better with age until late 20s. He's scored goals at every level (7 in 21 at Millwall, 5 in 18 at Leyton, 6 in 14 for England U19, 18 in 22 for Spurs U18) and did well for us at the end of last Season. His assist for Dier's goal was probably the most incisive pass of the game by either team.

Personally I can now see him as our third striker this Season, getting proper game time, and hopefully having a long successful career with us. I quite like the fact there's been so little hype about him and he's just gone about his business quietly and professionally.

Which kids are impressing you and you are backing to make it anywhere then?

Sheringham most def. is a good comparison for Kane. The more he keeps under the radar while he improves, the better for us. Last thing we need is him being labelled England's bright star up front with all that added pressure, which quite frankly he does not need. I'm looking forward to seeing what MP can achieve with him, especially after what Lambert had to say about him at Southampton and how he helped him at his mature age.

Has quick feet and a quick brain, the pace thing is a red herring ,after all the much maligned Aaron Lennon had/has buckets of pace.
Its not all about pace .
