Definitely seems to be the way to make things happen - being friendly with agents and be willing to pay their stupid fees.

Saw a report on twitter yesterday which said Liverpool spent more on agents fees last year than we did on our record signing Davinson Sanchez. Our fees are very much par for the course compared to other teams, we do pay them but clearly we're not willing to pay to that extent.

Ultimately, if there's a player you want, you have to pay up - Liverpool were willing to and got the players they wanted in the summer. It's paid off this season but makes you wonder how often anyone other than City can go out and spend that on agents fees alone. Can't be sustainable.

(possible pinch of salt needed for my suggested timings on what i read, as we haven't actually signed anyone to make agent payments for some fucking time! (n))

Also helps getting one of the super agents involved in the club at the top level, Wolves were right around the bottom of the table of agents fees paid - because the cheeky little ****s have some hooky deal going on.

Yeah the whole situation with Mendes' involvement at Wolves needs to get looked at. I'm frankly amazed more of a big deal hasn't been made of it by the papers. It's dodgy as fuck what they're doing there.

Sorry mate not sure what your point is. Whether or not the club is successful is irrelevant it's still dodgy as fuck and a massive conflict of interest on his part.

Think that’s a massive mistake personally. I think they’re being super hyper reactive to the Liverpool result and I personally think Griezmann is one of the most overrated players out there.
Have you watched any international tournaments lately ?

Not really sure how this necessarily solves their issue anyway. They were beaten over the two legs and in the first they were lucky, because they played with wrong tactics and couldnt cope with the speed and movement in midfield and defence.
A change in attacking option does not help

Like which ones specifically?

Regardless of which ones I think judging players in international games is incredibly flawed. It’s essentially how you end up spending a whack of money on Yerry Mina like I brought up in another thread.

Euro 2016 top scorer on way to the final and important part of World Cup winning team last year. I agree about judging players at one tournament but we’re talking about a player who’s played a key part in helping France reach two consecutive finals - this isn’t a midsized country reaching a QF once because of two good performances.

At club level he has good overall numbers in a squad which isn’t overflowing with attacking talent. He turns up regularly in big games.

He’s a world class player.

Midfield is a more pressing issue for them. But if dembele comes good then they now have a bit of everything in attack. And Messi.

I think de jong and busquets will be a fine midfield. What they truly need is a good coach.

Are Barca playing in any of those that apparently we have missed?

FYPFY. Where was he in that Juve game?

Irrespective of how much you rate him for France surely you see that this is not a great xfer for barca and nor does it address their issues?

Again I don’t really care all that much about the international stuff.

Plus I’d disagree about the attacking talent at Atletico. They have plenty - it’s just down to Simeone’s system that they play so defensive.

That said he’s still a less than a goal every 2 games attacker for both club AND country and I really don’t think he’s as world class as people make out. I think Barca are making a big mistake here and it’s going to be found out.

Regardless to whether or not AG is world-class, I wouldn't call this move super hyper reactive

Barca were after him last summer, so it's been a move in the making all season to be fair

I concede your point, but I’m not sure they would have been so willing to shell out the 125 million if that result had gone differently.
