BBC reporting Ramsey has signed a 4 year deal worth 400k a week with Juve

WONGA

That's an insane amount to pay him. Ramsey is good but I wouldn't put him in the top 10 in the world which is what Juve are going to pay him.

It’s an insane amount of money. But I guess they’ve leveraged the fact that aren’t paying a fee for him.

If you break down the deal it makes sense for Juve.

Say Ramsay is a 50m player, which is probably fair in today's market. Over the 4 years they're only paying 160k a week. It actually seems like a decent deal on their part.

BTW I know it doesn't work out exactly like that, but it's another way of approaching it.

Or Juventus could say, "We'll give you £150k a week and you get the chance to play with some of the biggest players, win titles and challenge for the Champions League. If you don't like it, stay at Arsenal; we'll get someone else in"

They might not be paying a fee, but that's £84m just in wages......... For Aaron flecking Ramsey! How much will the decent players in their squad want?

It also makes me very fearful for how much Eriksen wants!

Ramsey is a quality player. Juve are not going to pay £400k a week for someone who isn’t top class.

He is the kind of player that we could do with, and like others have said. If he’s worth that, what is Eriksen worth? Sadly for us we could be 12 months away from finding out.

Looks like milan did the right thing getting rid of huiguian and buying piatek. 6 goals in 5 games.

Raul Jimenez has joined Wolves on a permanent deal. 32m! 4yr deal. Him and Jota have been excellent this season.

Jota makes me moist. If only Mendes wasn't his agent. :(

Definitely seems to be the way to make things happen - being friendly with agents and be willing to pay their stupid fees.

Saw a report on twitter yesterday which said Liverpool spent more on agents fees last year than we did on our record signing Davinson Sanchez. Our fees are very much par for the course compared to other teams, we do pay them but clearly we're not willing to pay to that extent.

Ultimately, if there's a player you want, you have to pay up - Liverpool were willing to and got the players they wanted in the summer. It's paid off this season but makes you wonder how often anyone other than City can go out and spend that on agents fees alone. Can't be sustainable.

(possible pinch of salt needed for my suggested timings on what i read, as we haven't actually signed anyone to make agent payments for some fucking time! (n))

Agents have an extremely big say on where a player goes. That's why we have a lot of players firing and hiring new agents these days because some of them only have eyes for their own pockets and not their clients best interests in terms of their footballing career. I'd love to know how many big money deals wouldn't have gone through without big agent fees.

Just have a look at Riola's fee for bringing Pogba back to United and you'll get a sense of what it really takes to make a deal happen. Clubs get held to ransom and because most decent players have more than one suitor, the agents will push the client towards whichever club is willing to pay the agent the most money in return.

Here in South Africa it's the same with government tenders. The best contractors do not get the projects, its the contractors that are willing to give the tender approval agent the biggest kickback. This has been happening for many years at the detriment of our country with poor workmanship taking over quality as the quality contractors do not want to pay any kickbacks or they risk being implicated in corruption.

What the agents do to footballers and clubs these days is basically legal extortion.
