Our forward play is becoming predictable, because of the players we have. We need a variety of options per match. And I know Poch feels that also.

I agree. I feel that earlier in the season Son was a surprise weapon but now everyone knows hi threat. A couple of seasons ago we pacy and powerful full backs but now we have 'safe' but not threatening players in these positions. Teams are sussing us out plus when players are off top form we have little in the way of alternatives to offer attacking threats

We have been looking at Martin's for over 2 years now. If it was too difficult then, it would almost certainly be more difficult now.

Hard to gauge. I've seen a few Sporting games this year.

Martins certainly carries an unpredictable element to his game, dribbles well and has great pace.

However, this league is pretty shocking regarding the standard of football.

I'd certainly not be adverse to Spurs signing him, IF he could reproduce his current displays at Sporting here in the Prem...we might just have found our very own Mane...but better.

The Portuguese league is a difficult one. Who was the last success to come out of that league and make a big difference to their team?

Matic maybe? But Luiz and Lindelof struggled massively initially. They’re three I can think of off the top of my head.

Would we be better off not going for Leon Bailey. Surely he’d cost similar?

:LOL::LOL: Eric Dier.

To be fair to Dier, once he found his feet and got up to speed, he put in some impressive displays.

However, I haven't really seen him kick on this season, but being the handy utility player he is, I think it is sometimes overlooked.

I live in Lisbon and have watched Gelson a few times, he's an exciting prospect in a lot of ways. However, my issue with Gelson is that he needs to massively improve his end product. He's a superb dribbler and has electric pace, there's no doubting that, however he can be quite wasteful presented with chances and doesn't always effect the game the way he should. It'd be interesting to see how Poch can develop him in this manner but if we were to spend 50-60m on him I'd be concerned that we'd be getting the best option around for that price.

Having said that he ain't no slacker and he won't shirk defensive responsibilities so Poch won't have to ingrain that into him like he did with Sonny, he takes care of the ball quite well when faced up in his own half so that is beneficial. He could potentially play as the wing back in a 3-5-2.

While I get we all love discussing a good (possible) transfer link, wouldn't all transfer links as of right now be almost pointless to consider given the news of the last 3-4 days?

What news? Has Levy lost all of his terramundi pots?
