Levy has his faults, as we all do. But I honestly think we take for granted how well the club is run. The most we ever have to grumble about is a arguable lack of investment on the playing side.

We could use a director of football, though.

I think Poch has strong armed him a bit this time round and he's had to put up the cash, but fair play to him, he's delivered everything that was asked of him.

I have said this several times over the year - I personally think that we have a lot to thank Daniel Levy for.

From the dark days of the 90s where a fancy dribble or clever pass would be what we would consider highlights of a game in a dingy stadium that we, an ageing mismanaged team, more often than not lost - to these days. A world class training facility with a top youth team and a world class stadium all cleverly financed and integrated with local community development and initiatives. A coach fully tuned into the clubs objectives - particularly youth development. We are playing in the Champions League with regularity, giving teams in the premier league (which are owned by countries) a tough battle for top positions, and the future looks very bright .

Mr. Levy, a salute of gratitude and respect from a fan who has seen the dark days. A top astute business leader in a very volatile industry. Always has us punching well above our weight.

To add - ignoring a bunch of alternate-universe stuff where PL money would be less without them - if Chelsea and Man City hadn't been injected with fake sponsorship and oil money, we'd have probably won a league or two by now.

You only have to look at how Liverpool and Man Utd have struggled in recent years to see how we've done well to be consistent in our progress. They've had significant advantages in the managers/players they could attract, commercials etc, and have only had 1 shot between them at the league in the last 7 or so seasons now.

We've been quite lucky in how we've been run, in conjunction with being unlucky in that we've done it in an era where other teams have "cheat mode" on.

I'll always have a love for the old ground (not that I am not made up about the amazing new stadium) but I can't disagree with that.

I make Gary Neville about right.
People might beat him with the trophies stick but up until now we've been fighting the clubs that hoover them up with one arm tied behind our backs.
Hopefully that'll change over the coming seasons now we're competing with a some of them financially.

I must be mad but I stuck some money down on us winning the league before today's game obviously I'm a fucking lunatic.:):)

As an orthodox BSODL, I have say this is one of the few times I agree with GaryNeville.

The club has not only been renewed in every manner since Levy began, but we've been consistently improving as well.

Great time to be a Spurs fan.

Why is it a football man like Neville who sees things from the outside can appreciate him yet there are sections of our fan base who don't?

Basically because some people are pathological about the subject. You only have to look at the transfer window, and how people were going hyperbolic. There were people who were absolutely convinced the stadium was a conspiracy theory, and convinced that ENIC are secretly the Oystons (of Blackpool FC fame) in disguise.
