If Bale goes to China I think it sums him up really and you’d have to imagine it’s true about him losing interest in football and wanting to play more golf.

The guys already rich a million times over. I can understand why average top level players go to China for the money, players like Oscar who are good but not elite, but Bale is one of the best players in the world, disgraceful chasing even more money at the cost of competing in a proper league for the last few prime years of your career.

Would back up Madrid that the guy is going through the motions and wanting to stay at Madrid just to keep banking the cheques and play golf!

Perhaps the words from Poch in his interview were actually directed toward Betis. If they were worried that we might be looking towards bringing Bale back, then it might induce them to accept a lower offer on GLC or at the very least to expedite things. Maybe it's all part of our game plan ?‍♂️

Such a shame if Bale goes to China. He is way too good for that

I think if anything it would just indicate where his mind is at right now. Maybe that's slightly harsh considering the ridiculous money he would earn there but it would suggest he wouldn't have the hunger for the top competitions anymore.

He's never been truly accepted at Real by their fans or their players IMHO, I remember anytime watching many a game of theirs and his own team-mates were actively trying not to pass the ball to him; he was continuously mocked by his teammates over the heart thing* he wass trying to fit into a new country new culture, new language and is all the while in the shadow of Ronaldo and inspire of all this it was his goals that won them 2 CL's and a Copa del doda.

He's had injuries but I'm sure a lot of those were secondary injuries down to RM rushing him back.

*(granted trying to trademark it would open you up to ridicule but that always seemed to be someone in charge of his image rights decision rather than him)

I detest that club, their fans have treated Luka like shite at times too despite him being their best player, the same fans who'd trip over each other to gargle Benzema's nuts.

I know it was GB who chose to go to them, it was them that chose to give him a vast contract, if he comes back to PL I'll be gutted if it's not with us but I hope whatever happens he rinses RM.

They can’t afford him!!!
They have a market cap of $3bn. They are by far the biggest club in the world with the most sponsor money and the most marketable football club in Asia and the Americas. With all due respect, they 100% can afford him. As a publicly traded company, there finances are available for the entire world to see. They have alot of debt but can afford Bale and Adidas will probably help too. The largest shareholder just wont sanction it.

Bale has won 4 Champions Leagues, scored more CL final goals in the modern era than anyone besides C. Ronaldo, and has been at the top of the game for many years. He doesn’t have anything to prove to anyone.

But if he does go to China, it shows that his mindset is getting a shit ton of money before he retires. And there’s nothing wrong at all with that! But Pochettino has said over and over how much he loves coaching young and hungry players. I’m not sure that’s where Bale’s head is anymore and honestly I can’t blame him, who wouldn’t want to play golf and be the world highest paid footballer while playing at a canter. You can’t take those 4 CLs away from him with 2 game winners.

While Bale might not be the exact same player he was when he left us (that version of him was probably most evident during his last few years with us and first couple with Real), but he has transformed himself cleverly (not Tom) in my opinion. He might have lost a bit of that spark, sheer acceleration that left defenders in his wake in the blink of an eye, but he still has blistering top speed and if anything his skills have been sharpened. Also, without looking it up, hasn't he literally only just turned thirty? For a professional athlete who looks after themselves that is still prime time. Injuries do become more frequent at this stage and more body management needs to be utilised, but I think too much chatter writes him off for being an old-timer.

They would have to re-jig ALL CONTRACTS with present staff. At least four players of theirs would be on a ridiculous amount, beyond what they are in now. And it would seriously impact FFP, even them!

As would every club if they signed a big star. United could afford him if they wanted to sign him no doubt.

As would we. Means nothing. There is always a way. Especially with that club. If Manchester United wanted Gareth Bale, they would 1000% sign Gareth Bale.

Amazing really to see a talent like that deciding to retire from top flight football so early

It’s embarrassing mate. The guy would still be earning loads of money if he stayed in Europe and moved to another CL club, but he’s obviously putting earning a few more Chinese dollars over three more years of top level football in Europe.

Yeah he’s won it all but just look at a Ronaldo or Messi to see examples of players who never lose their hunger.

As I say, it seems the rumours of him losing interest in football and wanting to play golf are quite accurate.

Yes, I’m sure he will be laughing all the way to the bank enjoying a lifestyle (playing golf getting paid millions) we’d all love to have but I don’t think it’s a very good reflection on him at all.

It would seem we’d have dodged a bullet paying so much money for someone who clearly has lost their hunger!

Given that post he made on his social media a few pages back (the one with the two goals) I personally think all he wants to do is play football, I agree with the others that say whoever gets him next (assuming he gets a choice) is going to get one hungry, angry asset; maybe only 2 or 3 seasons but could be more, how much did they play him when he was fit?
He could alter his game in the next couple of years and still remain right at the top for a good while yet.
