As much as I'd like him back I think he'll go to United.
My head agrees yet the heart yearns...

He did bother to learn Spanish, it might not be perfect but it's better than mine!
The question about his professionalism is an interesting one. I’ve never understood why he hasn’t bothered to learn Spanish if he wanted to stay at Madrid long term. His refusal to do that if I was his manager would infuriate me. It just shows a lack of commitment. I’m sure it’s probably because he’s too thick or can’t be bothered because he thinks he can get by without it. But it doesn’t really show much respect to his team mates.
You’d think it would be part of a player’s contract nowadays that they have to learn the language of the country they are playing in. If not and I was a club I would definitely make it a part of it.
Funny that an actual team-mate says this....
"He knows Spanish perfectly, the thing is that he is too shy to use it, which seems normal to me.
"I speak with him in Spanish and English, without distinction. And I see that his commitment to the club is total. He is a Madrid fanatic and he has given everything for the club. He is a great player, I don't need to say it."

We love him and he loves us.The cries about Spurs not willing to pay wages or pay this or pay that and we have 50+ pages on a player that is on god tier money ...
Hahah.
I don't know why people keep mentioning the buy back clause tbh. The last contract he signed, and wages he now picks up, make this clause all but on paper meaningless.
I think one of the problems is he also lacks confidence to speak it out loud. But this gets perceived as if he doesn't put the effort in.That's a staged interview. His understanding of the language is clearly way better than his ability to think and reply. So he's sort of learned the language but should be pretty much fluent by now. I suspect he finds it hard on a daily basis.
