Agents get a lot of stick and rightly so but this is why they are a necessity for players.

If Bale was stuck in this situation without a decent agent he'd likely be begging Madrid to let him leave and lose his 'entitlements'.

even though we have been on the receiving end of Bale getting what he wants (when he didn't play just prior to the RM move) it is true that his agent has played a brilliant innings for him

Anyone remember the dealio with image rightsu thought you got paid more in Spain but Madrid take a chunk of your image income. Whereas in the UK you keep it all.

If I've not made this up, could help with the weekly wage.

I believe that's the case and was mentioned last summer, where some journos suggested his image rights meant he would consider pay in the region of £200-250k.

I can see his wage being split between RM, the buying club and finally a reduction he accepts due to getting his image rights back.

What would it take for us to agree a deal for him?
Guessing:
1. Madrid releases him from his contract (which has 3 years to run)
2. He signs a 3 year deal with us
3. His 600K per week is largely subsidized by Madrid (perhaps 375K per week from them)
4. We pay him less per week than Kane (no one will be paid more than him) so that's around 150K
5. Bale takes a 75k per week discount
6. Odds - not bloomin likely

the thing is if people read every post they might of noticed what I posted earlier, so many people going overboard on how we are going to pay him. this below is what I posted earlier

whatever happens with Bale, RM will not get away with this scott free. if they give him away on a free they will have to pay off his contract, which theoretically Bale would have the wages paid for those 3 years already. even Bale is not that greedy to be expected to be paid the same amount each week again, and whatever he was paid eg.... Kanes wages it would then work out at 850 + bonuses and I'm sure Levy to do the deal 3yrs contract, would allow him his sponsors money.

if RM loan him the only team that could cut their cost down would be Man U by accepting to pay him ½ his wages which I doubt Levy would, but depends on whether Bale would want to go there now.

Bale has all the eggs in his basket, and it's up to RM on how desperate they are to get rid.

they won't be able to:

sell him as no one will pay 70+m for a player approaching 30 and then pay 650k per week

they won't be able to loan him without subsidising at least ½ his wages

they won't be able to give him away for free, without paying either his whole contract, or pretty close to it.

or just leave him to train with the reserves, let him play golf and keep paying him his money.

As I said in another post on here, if Bale moves this summer he will know whatever he will still receive his wages he is on now 1 way or another, and he also knows that when he is 33, no one will even consider a wage over 200k to sign him

f he gets his image rights then paying him the same as Kane he will be earning an absolute fortune

now I've had a bad day, so don't know if your being sarcastic or what.

what I have posted makes sense though, no way does he leave if RM pay him off and expect the next club to pay him stupid wages. if he was 24-25 he might get away with it, but whatever happens it will be public knowledge.

the headlines will be:

RM pay Bale off
or
RM will loan Bale but pay ???wages
or
G Bale is going to enjoy the sun, playing Golf with 650k in his pocket

JJ on Bale? - £34m annually!

That is crazy money. Over 650k a week.

Doubt we’d offer even 1/3 of that as a weekly. So £21m needs to be upfront to offset.

How much does Madrid want to get rid of him?

For us to have a chance they would have to lob in at least half and prob nearer to £24m and leave us offering 200k pw

No chance on a so many levels.

£21m only offsets one year. He has 3 years left.

Bale and his agent are playing a blinder.
By saying he will see out his contract and just play golf even if he doesn't play is a master stroke.
That is the last thing RM wants any interested party to be hearing, his value will plummet if Bale sits tight and doesn't blink Zidane is stuck with a player he doesn't want on 600k a week, that will hit his plans big time what with fair play he will be had by the bollocks and Bales transfer price will drop big time just to get him off the books
A loan deal they would have to consider and I would snatch their hands off, anyone who thinks otherwise is crazy, Bale is WC.

This ^^^^

Bale has all the power.
If he digs in & says " I want to stay & honour my contract", he has every right to do so & Real would have to pay him.

No one can afford, or is willing, to take on Bale's contract. This diminishes their bargaining position.
Furthermore, Real is in disarray. The team is not what it was a couple of seasons ago. It's aging poorly.
They've admitted that they need to overhaul the squad.
They have publicly stated that Bale is not part of their plans. This diminishes their bargaining position.
& having Bale's contract will be like an albatross around their necks. It will seriously affect their ability to make sufficient changes. This further diminishes their bargaining position.

Real will have to heavily subsidize any deal.
If he's willing to come to us, a CL finalist (maybe even a winner) & help us win our first PL title, he'll gain legendary status.
If Levy, Bale, & Barnett still have an amicable relationship (no reason to believe otherwise) this could very well become a sweet deal for us.

Yeah you’re right !

So to keep the 200k pw in line, we’d have to slip Bale a £21m Christmas gift card for any following season.
Boots or WH Smith?

I still remember meeting Bale in the Adidas shop on Oxford street. First or second season with us. He had £2000 to spend I. Store to get his kit. Him and a mate with a pile of clothes and few boxes. No one Fussed he was wondering about. I got him to Sign an autograph. Times have changed for the lad.

I wouldn’t be too unhappy if Bale stays at Real Madrid. It will reduce their capability of buying Eriksen.

Am I the only one that thinks sacking off bale to get hazard is beyond madness. Hazard ain’t on the same level as bale.
It's beyond madness. But I disagree. I think Hazard will shine at RM and they're pretty equal right now tbf.

Then maybe Bale was one of our prime targets... Which he should be because he's a fucking unbelievable player who would immediately elevate our team.

all the chit chat is all great stuff. The only important question is does Poch want him....simples

Or not. Bale knows he has a contract worth X amount, and he would know what he was being offered elsewhere. Unless you believe he fundamentally lacks the ability to count I’m not sure an agent is adding much.

Strange that you remember it that way when he played the whole time up to the closed season and held off leaving for Real Madrid until after we had done our shopping as all parties agreed at the time even though he could have kicked up a fuss to go straight away.

Wasn’t it just friendlies he missed? I may be wrong
