Loan is the only deal that makes sense. RM pick up the wages above our limit and if he falls to bits they can deal with it. The only possible down side is that he couldn't play against them if we ended up facing them in the CL but I can live with that.
the loan rule isn't the same in the CL (apologies if I'm wrong) can't remember who it was but it has happened

Same as last year but this time ZZ is back and being backed.

He's going somewhere, even if it's last day on loan. We'd be stupid not to be one of the clubs he gets to choose from. Not sure he would choose us because we can't compete with PSG or United in wages but we have the new stadium, CL and Pochettino, that's gotta be a draw for any player

It's a case of priorities and Bale would be a luxury. We don't have endless funds and rather other areas strengthened first!

The question about his professionalism is an interesting one. I’ve never understood why he hasn’t bothered to learn Spanish if he wanted to stay at Madrid long term. His refusal to do that if I was his manager would infuriate me. It just shows a lack of commitment. I’m sure it’s probably because he’s too thick or can’t be bothered because he thinks he can get by without it. But it doesn’t really show much respect to his team mates.

You’d think it would be part of a player’s contract nowadays that they have to learn the language of the country they are playing in. If not and I was a club I would definitely make it a part of it.
U r aware that it is impossible for some people to learn another language for different reasons. He certainly cant be thick considering the football brain he has. He's not the first and wont be the last. I think a lot is being made outta that fact. And he plays to much golf. Gimme a break . Would they be happier if he was in the pub gambling in spanish.

I think a lot of it boils down to him just being somewhat introverted. Doesn’t mean he hasn’t learned the language, just means he doesn’t put himself in situations to become more fluent.

I watched the Wales game yesterday and he looked a country mile off of his game and I know he is not match sharp but his confidence also looks to be suffering.
The poor bloke needs his future sorted out fast or the way he is being treated at Real, could see him fade away as forgotten.

A Spurs move is the lease of life he looks like he needs, hopefully we can somehow make it happen.

I wouldn't be surprised if he was suffering with depression if some of the stuff that's been printed is true.

imo Bale is going to find it quite difficult to get a move away from RM. Cannot see them just rolling over and letting him go for free, plus he will not write off the remaining contract monies. He has age against him also, will be interesting to see if RM do not get their preferred signings whether he will be reintegrated into their team.
Or maybe a last minute sale for some team out there.
If he really just wants to play football perhaps he should accept a smallish payout from RM just to give him room to negotiate a more sensible contract with a new club. He most certainly cannot want for money.

Article in the Times today, for those interested (I don’t buy it but saw hard copy in Doc’s waiting room). The article doesn’t really say anything new. Endorses the sensible stuff that’s been posted in this thread. RM want him out. Bale won’t roll over and ‘bale’ them out. So a huge stand off. Not likely to be sorted early. The article concludes it’s possible he’ll stay in Spain playing golf next season. Personally I doubt it but no reason for him to say otherwise in public yet.
