The only way I can see this working is to trade him and c£150m to PSG for neymar or, he goes for free to China or, he goes for free to a club with RM or the buying club paying bale a very large signing bonus. Not really appealing to anyone. Either way I don’t see it having anything to do with us

If there is any fee/ big signing on fee involved can’t see him coming to us. With the probable limited sell on value at end of his next contract it doesn’t really seem like a transfer we would go for

Letting him? He isn't his dad. Bale can do whatever the hell he likes. If his agent doesn't like it, he can find another agent who will.
Letting him as in let Madrid loan him, why would you think that Bale isn’t totally behind his agents plan what ever it is ( he obviously has one) . By turning down all loan offers they turn the screw on Madrid even more than it already is.

If he doesn't come to us I hope he just sticks out the contract at RM and gets paid to do fuck all.

He does not owe us or RM anything, he has done what he has been paid for and he has no need to go some where and prove himself.

Crappy game really.

Surprised bale played so soon after the public back and fourth attacks .

Shop window. The situation is beyond untenable with Bale, Zidane and their supporters. Perez is still clinging onto a hope of either reconciliation or getting a decent fee. Neither if which will happen. He will likely be sold or left out of the named squad, IMO.

Its proof to me of who was lying the other day. Zidane says Bale asked not to play as he's close to leaving, but if that was true why would he then want to play in the next game?

Was just thinking about all the big money superstars who went there and didn't fair too well.

Kaka
James
Cannavaro
Robben
Sneijder
..and there's probably a lot more

In Bale's time at the club they've won 4 CL trophies, Bale has scored well over 100 goals, he won them the Copa de la Rey with that amazing solo goal when Ronaldo was suspended (I think).

When you compare that to the list of players above (and the expectations that they couldn't live up to), it's absolutely insane the levels of hate and vitriol he is getting. It's nothing short of ridiculous. I don't remember the aforementioned players getting any level of grief from the Madrid fans, yet none of them come anywhere close to what Bale has done and achieved at the club.

Spot on!
I honestly don't know if it has something to do with Zizou's ego - or that he really doesn't rate Bale as a player.
There have been a number of comments where they consider Bale a 'push and run' player and that he doesn't have the technical finesse that the likes of Isco or Acensio have.......i don't agree btw!

BUT perhaps the biggest reason why he gets so much hate is that they saw him as the Ronaldo's heir - his replacement to continue producing results, but they've grown tired with his injury record and so-called 'introverted' personality.

Real thrive off big, brash players and Bale doesn't quite fit that mould.

Great conversation guys.

Any news on Gareth Bale?
Football is not about glory, it stopped being about glory when it stopped being a game, in 1992.

Since then it's a career, it's something you can study at University, there is an industry surrounds it and it's almost globally popular. As someone said on the radio this morning, you think Tom Cruise is going to go and make his next film for no money? Of course not - would you work your job for less pay because some customers wanted you to?

Add to that, it's a hard call because you set your value by stuff like this - if he accepts this then he has a high chance of finding a decent contract next year. If he accepts a lower wage and it doesn't work out wherever he goes next, he's carved his chances of getting a similarly impressive wedge in half.

From the point of view of a fan, i'd love to see him play at the Lane again. From the point of view as a member of modern society - grab the money, mate. Grab it and invest it before you get that injury tomorrow that ends your career, or the arse falls out of the game, or the million other things that could dick your plans up in a heartbeat.

It's a year. Enjoy the duck & pancakes.

Does that answer your question?

And Van Der Vaart... He didn't fair too well when he left them either...

It looks like he is off on a free, if he moves. Reports are suggesting that he has turned down China.

So on a free his cost would be around 90-95 million to cover his existing wage. That’s basically like having a player signing for around 55 million and being paid 41 million in wages over 4 years (200 k per week).

If this plays towards the end of the window. Levy might just be tempted.

7 days or so until the China window closes.
