Another factor is the lack of sell on fee. When was the last time we sanctioned a deal worth tens of millions of pounds for a player approaching 30?

Dembele is our best midfielder and we’re going to let him go this summer rather than give him a new contract. He’s two years older than Bale.

When was the last time we qualified for the champions league three seasons in a row, or built a new stadium? Even if we don't sign Bale times are changing.

If there's even a chance we can bring back Bale we must go for it, would have an undeniable boost for the club both on and off the pitch. This team's crying out for an experienced player to push them towards trophies, Bale can be that

The rumours are scary to be honest. All I keep seeing is two detectives standing over my body.

If Bale comes back it will be the biggest transfer in our history, eclipsing Klinsmann.

The shirt sales alone would be crazy.

Dembele is quality, but Bale is a once in a generation player.

If he becomes available and is interested - you have to do everything in your power to sign him.

Or twice in a generation....you do realize he played for us earlier in his career right?

Think Bale would absolutely love to play with some of the players we have as well today. Imagine when we had him we had players like Crouch playing center forward for us. Now he has one of the best strikers in the world to play with and one of the best playmakers as well. We would be extremely dangerous next season if he was to come.

Better than Eriksen? I really don't think so

Even with our possible spend up this summer, I just can't see this happening. We can "try" all we want, but I just can't help but see the wages being a problem.

IMO Both Bale and Dembele would be awesome in the squad with Alli, Eriksen and Kane

Exactly, he wouldn’t be second fiddle playing in a system that is basically get over the halfway line and give Ronaldo the ball.
I think we could utilise him a lot better than RM and our free kicks would get instantly better. You never know our corners may stop ending up at the feet of Lloris.

I think he'd absolutely love to play for Poch as well. If it's within our means in terms of the transfer fee and his wage, we simply have to go for it.

The only downside that I can see is that we'd have to retire "who needs Bale when you've got Sissoko", which would be a crying shame. Although I guess we could still sing it if Sissoko's playing in a match and Bale isn't...

Wake me up, before you go go,
We bought back Bale and we sold Sissoko.
