Whether bullshit or factual, add their supposed asking price to our supposed offer and divide by two, and the middle of the road doesn't sound to bad. (80 + 50) / 2= 65.

If we get him i will be happy. Very suprised but happy.
Hey Baz,
Didn't comment earlier but the wages he gets are "reported" to include his image rights, which RM own I believe after the transfer. "IF" he came back, we would give those rights back to him, meaning his actual wage would be considerably less (still high for us). He would then have to agree to a smaller pay structure, which I'm sure he is aware of.
The long and the short of it, I hope he just wants to be loved again, because he will be at Spurs. Imagine those long range curling shots breaking Liverpool hearts. My cock gets hard at the thought! (y)

Even if we offer him 150k per week after tax, it is still a difference of 200kpw..... If I were to be him, I stay and rot till 2022..lol

Gareth Bale is a world class player and has the experience in 'big games' and 'champions league'.
IMO he will definitel increase sales and draw more crowds. But i have some questions:
Does he have the 'work ethic' of MoPo's pressing?
Is he what we really need at this moment?
Will the price paid justify in regards to other potential players?

I'd like to see him at the lane but i still have a few doubts

My thoughts entirely. Do not want Bale back at all. Rather the money is spent elsewhere.

The way we play now? I doubt it

How many points have we lost the last couple of seasons, drawing games where we dominated from start to finish, unable to convert our possession into goals? Bale is the kind of player that can score those match-winning goals.

We drew 8 games in the league this season, if just two of them had been converted to wins we would be ahead of Man United. Maybe we even could have capitalized on our dominance against Juventus, and in the semi final against Man United.

It's all a bunch of 'what if''s of course, but a player who can make a goal out of nothing is something we clearly have missed. Eriksen can do this to a degree, but a player like Bale would really help, no matter how we play.

I don't disagree with this I just don't see him giving us an extra 12 points on last seasons total. If you play him then Son, or Dele don't play and they scored the difference making goals in how many games?

Yes the way we play now as when teams sit back he will score where we balloon shots constantly. When we're defending he can break in an instant. Teams will come with a completely different mind set

Ok granted 12 points maybe exaggerated but my point is us winning games we drew or even lost. Just changes our whole ability to flip games in our favour

Our first priority in regards to transfers has to be proven, top class players.
It's just that all those want to play for Real, Barca, Bayern etc.

If one is genuinely available and wants to come to us we have to buy them (as long as we can afford them).

I still don't believe that this will happen, however, looking at how happy Gareth is playing for Wales I can imagine him being willing to 'downsize' if he wants out of the pressure cooker of Real Madrid and he won't get that at a Mourinho led United.
We're also not a third tier team anymore, we've moved up to the second tier, so he would know that if he was firing on all cylinders we would become genuine contenders for silverware as well.

If fit he does offer that fantasy ability to score out of nothing. It is not a case of Bale or another player but the addition of such a player to our team does improve our options. We looked too predictable in too many games. Against ManU once they went ahead we never looked like scoring and similar and Juventus. Dominating possession is great, playing intricate passing patterns is wonderful but sometimes it just need a bit of fantasy to break through. Yes in Eriksen, Kane, Dele we have such players but we need more.

Now I am not convinced Bale is the answer but in terms of the high fees being quoted for kids he may actually be good value in today's market

As I have said before in this thread if money were no object then Bale would be a far easier choice to sya yes to. As it is though we are talking about possibly half our transfer budget for a player with a poor injury record of late. He can only win us games if he is fit and on the pitch, and for 60-70 mil we need whoever we buy to be available for the majority of the season.

Bale converts at least 3 draws to wins and a few losses to draws if not wins. Would it have been enough to win the league this year? No. City was incredible. Any other year? Yep. Would Bale have won us a trophy this season? That I doubt simply because Poch infuriatingly outright refuses to play his strongest XI in a domestic cup semi final. However, we might be in tbe position Liverpool are in currently.

IHe’s a world class player and a proven winner. He is what we are CRYING out for. We need a winner in this squad. We need to snatch victory from draws. We need to snatch points from defeats. We need to learn how to not bottle it. A winner would tremendously help in that regard. Spurs fans that wouldnt him back is absolutely absurdly unbelievable. Mind boggling.

He’s not coming back but fucks sake we desperately need someone like him.
