I think Lukaku is really good but Do not benefit from uniteds way of playing. Hes been one of this WCs best players.

Don’t get me wrong, Lukaku is a very good striker. I just don’t think he’s Madrid level, although I suppose neither is Benzema.

Think they’ll either sign Lewandowski or wait for M’bappe.

Neymar could never fill the void of ronaldo or even half of it imo. Neymar is a player of moments and i think even they are very few and far between.

Ronaldo leaving makes no difference to bales situation imo. They will sign 2 players to replace him and bale will be in the same situation.

Bale's issue in that team is splitting time with Isco not Ronaldo. Fucking nuts the depth they have in midfield. Wonder if they just go all out for the "youth movement" and ship out Modric as well and let Isco start next to Kroos and Casemiro.

I totally agree. My point was in response to those who suggested bale may stay and become 'the man' with ronaldo gone.
No way in hell modric goes. You cant get any better than a great destroyer paired with modric.

This whole Ronaldo business makes me wonder if this is why Zidane left.

Either he wanted them to keep Ronaldo OR he thought some change needed to happen and they didn’t agree at the time, but now Ronaldo has forced their hand.

He said he felt burnt out after he played us, think it was on the cards for a while. Winning the CL again was the perfect way to leave, covered up a shambolic league campaign too.

Chavski melting down.

Plus Conte seems insistent on not resigning, so that's £9m plus whatever compensation they have to pay for Sarri that can't be spent on incoming players.

Maybe Abramovich is liquidiating key assets prior to a sale of the club. One can but hope.......

Love that Conte is refusing to leave! Admire his stubbornness

Stubbornness?

Or just pure greed?

I'm looking forward to Abramovich's counter-suit alleging Conte decreased the value of Diego Costa through his blunt tweets etc. :)

Thanks, english is not my first language so I have a lot of errors when talking and writing.

Don't worry it's a running joke on here. Most english people confuse there, their and they're from time to time.

Because in situations like this a manager is supposed to ignore his contractual obligations to manage, forego his contractual entitlement to compensation, and expose themselves to claims of BOC on the backside by doing the 'honorable' thing and leave. Nothing but 'greed'. C'mon Lex keep up.

Conte has provoked Abramovich into sacking him by being a complete [expletive of choice] all last season. He's also cost the club serious money by angering key players (eg Diego Costa and it looks like Courtois & Hazard want to leave), and failing to qualify for CL football.

Ordinary people who are sacked are lucky to get a month or two's salary, and football managers are most certainly not paid like ordinary people.

There are plenty of top coaching jobs Conte could walk into, but the word coming from journalists is that he intends to take a year's sabbatical just so he can piss chavski off and collect £9 million. Presumably because his new salary would be offset against what he otherwise would be paid by chavski.

So, yeah, in the real world, as opposed to the fantasy world of top flight football where an agent like Raiola can make tens of millions of pounds by shunting his client from one top club to another, I'd say Conte is greedy.

You mean last season when that cantankerous bastard won them the title? Yeah, what a **** that Conte is. Or were you talking about this year when he won them the FA Cup? Off with his head I say. Sure hope Poch never 'provokes' DL like that. You know, by all that winning stuff.

But seriously, by all accounts he was promised players and not got them. I am sure his recruitment would not have been successful if they told him they would bring in Danny f*cking Drinkwater. Do you? Managers are chopped and changed at Chelsea at the Russian's whim, Conte is no different. The only change here is that Roman has gotten tight with the payoffs. What Conte plans to do after fulfilling his contract is immaterial as long as he fulfills his contract.

You can see it how you like but if this equates to greed on Conte's behalf then you are probably in a minority camp. And it is because of this camp that contracts are indeed necessary because if everyone behaved appropriately we wouldn't need contracts. Conte is fulfilling his contract and deserving of his payment.

It's Chelsea and Abramovich, fuck them.
