You have to admire Ajax in how they continually produce well rounded footballers. Its a testimony we need to follow and I truly believe we have the players in our academy. Harry Wink and Kane we have proved the talents there, I hope Poch looks more towards our own. I keep going on about Onomah theres Skipp as well to.

Yeah that's why you have to give credit to Levy for building the infrastructure that he has and the benefits are in the long term, just a shame that when we are going through the trouble of preparing us for 20 years team it has coincided with the best team we've had in 3/4 decades and feels like a missed opportunity to strike.

There's far more underneath coming through.. I have real hopes for a few in our academy right now.. Jack roles is the standout player right now but Imho there's quite a few that are going to make a very very good living even if they don't make to highest grade with us.. Tash booth, tj, tangana, Alfie whiteman to name a few all have a crack at making the big time Imho plus you have kaz sterling and Young Parrott training with the first team. Now.

He only joined Ajax four years ago, as a 17-year-old, and has played, what, 40ish games for them?

Considering we were already heavily interested this summer, along with half the world, not sure how much quicker we could have been.

Think we'd have been a very good fit for him and Barca might be too early for him but, hey, this is football at the moment...
Yes that's fair enough given his age. I guess it's more about the player on this occassion waiting for a big move to Barca. It's just frustrating when our targets are swarmed by the top clubs. At least he pre-signed this month so we dont have to hold out hopes during the summer. Onto the next one then...

Just read a piece that says Pep was resigned to losing to De Jong due to the Barcelona interest. What chance do we have when even City can't compete? The article seems to be suggesting Frenkie is getting £300k a week too, which is mad.
