I must be getting old because I've literally never heard of any of these players we're being linked with. If it wasn't for Rabiot's name being in there, the threads in this forum would just look like an assortment of the weirdest made-up aliases on the planet. "Adrien Rabiot" is pushing it as it is.

I don't think it's so much you're getting old as it is transfer and player strategy, both at our club and football-wide, has shifted big time. Everyone's looking to buy young players who look ready to take the next step from decent teams in decent leagues.

Imagine Real Madrid buying a 19 year-old academy product fifteen years ago.

Surely they'd rather sell cheaply to a club not in their league?
We say that every window and every window an Italian or German team sells a key player to a rival for less than we get quoted. I genuinely believe those leagues hate the power and money of the PL more than they hate their own league's rivals.

From Grealish to Grillitsch... ;)

Just call me Danny Rose, because I am in the same boat with you...

He looks tidy on the ball and strong in challenge and could well be a good addition to the squad in the more technical games when we don't need a dedicated DM.

If Poch sees something in him, and thinks he'll compliment our other midfield options, then who are we to argue?

Not to be the buzzkill wizard but all Sky Sports reported is that he's of interest to us. Not that we actually plan to bid for him in any sort of timeframe. Also we've had this thread open since December 16th so we've already known that we were interested in him so there's not really anything "new" or "happening" to report on I think.
True. Lyall Thomas just creates an article and throws in 5/6 names that are of ‘interest’. Sky covering all bases.

If the club have identified him and Pochettino likes him then all for it.

I know it’s not as exciting as a Frenchman who has only ever excelled for a team filled with superstar in a league comparable to the Championship over here, but I reckon this is just the type of signing we should be looking at. In fact, it’s just the type of signing that got us where we are now.

Watched the obligatory YouTube video, and quite frankly I think Sander Berge appears the more cultured of the two, probably more physical too.

My conclusion after a Youtube scouting mission - bang average. We'll almost certainly buy him now.

Youtube makes him look so average and that is supposed to be his highlights. Also looks quite slow. It would be a no from me based upon that breif viewing.
