All around MF, can distribute and protect/dribble a player when necessary. Reminds of Goretzka (kinda gawky but wierdly athletic) somewhat but not as driving with the runs nor offensive. Seems a very promising player from a pressing system. Runs his ass off and is very active in harassing players in the MF. He is very slight and long. He seems to have decent balance when on the ball. I haven't really been able to tell if he has good pace or good pace for a MFer but he seems to get around the pitch and get away from folks when dribbling.

Only seen him 5 or so games this season but thought enough of his displays to mention him in a PM convo to another poster. Tried to watch him this weekend but he was an unused sub.

Woah seems like our scouts have a soft spot for austrians... shame I quit my footballing career very early :ROFLMAO:

Tbh I know Grillitsch mainly from the national team, which is not really a pleasure to watch - but there were much darker times for austrian football so Grillitsch is one of the young lads that many hope will get us to another big tournament after first Euro qualification for France (been there and seen us losing to Iceland - maybe some of you know how that feel :ROFLMAO:)

Grillitsch is a classic central midfilder, I would see him as a 8 - good vision, passing and technique, good work rate, good allround but nothing that stands out imo. He seems to be an ambitious and determined player think the transfer to Hoffenheim worked out well for him.
I was never really a fan of him, wouldn't think that he has the potential to be worldclass but could be a good squad option though. Maybe it's because I'm not used to worldclass austrian players, so I'm biased and he could turn out well...

As we need central midfielders he could be a good shout for 20-25m (guess)

Sky Sources eh? Hoffenheim as a whole looked useful in the Champions League group but can’t say anyone stood out particularly.

TOTTENHAM KEEN ON GRILLITSCH
Tottenham
are keen on Hoffenheimmidfielder Florian Grillitsch, according to Sky sources.
It is understood Spurs scouts have been watching him play at club and international level this season. The Austria international is also thought to have a release clause in his contract, which has more than two-and-a-half years left to run, of just over £18m.
Grillitsch’s name is thought to be on a list of potential successors to Mousa Dembele, who appears close to a move to the Chinese Super League following an acceptable offer lodged by Beijing Sinobo Guoan earlier this week.

SkySports have it so clearly we've already tried, failed and have moved on to other targets.
