Yeah he doesn’t score many at all.

From the videos his long passing looks to be a strength. Could be handy for a nice switch of play in a 433.

It seems like he’d be one to play at the base, but if you’re going to play there then you have to be defensively sound. If you’re gonna play more advanced then a better contribution goals and assists wise is probably needed.

Not saying I know much about him, but there has always been a need for the midfielders your leaving out.

Going by the statistics you give, Modric, Viera, Roy Keane, Xavi, Carrick and many more would all have been deemed poor midfielders, but we know that these where all exceptional players in winning teams, yet they didn't post high Assists/Goals stats.

I think modern football has got to hung up on statistics and sometimes we forget to look at the bigger picture, which is for someone to score or assist, someone had to get the ball to them in that position in the first place - or dictate play through the middle and control the pace of the game to allow chances to be created further up the field.

I think in our current midfield that is exactly the type of player we need, someone who gets the ball forward early, breaking the lines with a forward pass to our front four which are all well known for goals and assists

I totally agree but we already have winks who does that sort of job and I’m not sure this guy is any significant upgrade or offers anything significantly different to him or Skipp for that matter. At this stage I think we could do worse than bring back some physicality to the midfield that we’ve lost with Wanyama and Dembele not being the players they were. I think Zakaria would probably make more sense.

We should get Grealish from Villa and trust what we have coming through in Winks Skipp Onomah (Dier Sissoko, Alli can if need be play) It's looking like Wanyama Dembele ain't capable anymore and could be sold.
