Who would you like us to play in our first game ‘back home’?

I’d like to see United; it’d be nice to finish at WHL then start against the same team, especially such a big name.

I just want anyone who we're quite likely to beat. I can see it now, get a tough team, don't win, next morning, 'new stadium hoodoo for Spurs'.

Just 3 points for me thanks!

This. A nice mid to bottom half of the table team who play nice and open who we can smash to pieces thanks! ( not West Ham though :D).

I suspect the chairman and co know only too well how important it is to kick off with a win there.

Maybe they’ll angle for an extra away game early if the fixture list throws up a toughie...?

Given that we may not play at home for the first couple of weeks, it is entirely possible that our first League game at the new Stadium will mark the 110th anniversary of our first ever League game at White Hart Lane.

September 1st, which is a Saturday this year, is the date in question and, back in 1908, we beat Wolverhampton Wanderers 3-0.

I'd take that again.

United.

First and last game at the Lane, we've been keen on tradition putting up the new place, wouldn't surprise me if we had a friendly arranged against them.

I assume that the very first game will be a friendly (?)

If so, and this may seem like an odd choice, but I think Ajax would be fitting

There seems to be a connection between the two clubs

Anyway, first competitive game should be United. They're the biggest club in the country and the last to play at OWHL. A proper traditional 'glamour tie'!!

Listening to talksport today and it has come out that the Premier league rigs the fixtures so that no top six side plays another top six side first and last games of the season so unlikely to be one of them.
Assuming they now consider us a top six side I guess.

Since we're not playing at home on the first day of the season it will be Liverpool, 100%, im definitely not guessing.

Didn't we play Man City first game of the season a few years ago? 0-0?
Might have been longer ago than I think...
Shit, it was 2010!!

At which time neither one of us was of any interest to Richard bleeding Scudamore and the Premier league hierarchy.
Actually when you think about it we have both gatecrashed the party since then.:)

I think we all the know the powers that be will arrange for City to visit on the 1st day. Them or Liverpool, the love in must start early next season......

Think we always tend to have an early fixture with Everton - right sort of club to play first match at NWHL.
They are established premier side, good following, one of the old top 6 with designs to get back there.

Then in couple of seasons we can be first visitors at their new place.
