Watching the game yesterday I was frustrated with him, however lack of game time showed.
What I now think is more frustrating is the fact we've had opportunity's when cruising in games to take kane off and give llorente minutes and we haven't, which has now come back bite us.

Exactly what I thought ... He rarely played for 1 and a half year... he showed that he is capable of scoring goals in his career - but he lacks match sharpness now as we never utilised his abilities or tried to rest Kane a bit

The thing is we could do what we did with Sissoko, give this guy quite a lot of match time, and hope he plays himself into form. But what's the point? Unlike with Sissoko you can see he's not just off-form but physically gone. He doesn't leap, doesn't react, doesn't press, doesn't run. Sissoko may have been doing everything poorly but he was at least able to try, this guy is about to turn 34 and looks totally past it. And we'd take that kind of risk in the hope that he hits a good patch only to inevitably decline anyway? If we're going to play someone who's nowhere close to the required standard in the hopes they'll improve I'd much rather give one of the kids a chance. It's not like they can do much worse - it's not an exagerration to say that considering the own goal we'd have literally been better off with ten men yesterday.

doesn't work hard enough to earn enough game time, still baffles me why we signed him totally doesn't suit our style of play. I think to get the best out of him he would need to play in a front 2 with a quicker player in and around him to run off his flicks and to drag the defence around

My issue with Fernando is that he moves around so slowly.

I'm all for allowing time to get up to speed, but even from the off he could show a bit more hunger and endeavour before he starts to 'tire'.

It's like so ponderous, but clearly isn't one hundred percent match fit as it where, but a bit more effort and determination for such a big lad wouldnt go a miss either.

This begs the question, "Why was he bought in the first place if there wasn't a plan to play him regularly?" Since Harry blossomed into one of the world's best, Poch's way of playing was never to use a conventional number 9. He was never ever going to be a straight swop for Harry, so why have we kept him? It's sad for him as he was useful to the lower EPL clubs and could have enjoyed much, much more playing time as he approached retirement age. An enigma to me that he wasn't sold after one season.

I understand what you mean, but I also think you're unfair. Before the Fulham game he had played 36 minutes in the league + a few minutes in the cup. Sure, he should have done better with his chances. But the guy is clearly not match fit. Our players are used to play with Kane or Son, so they don't use Llorentes strengths.

like some others here and not just with Llorente, why don't they get some more game time when we are winning a match, there has been a few times when we are 3 up or more and only make a change in the 85 minute or more,
Kane playing 88 minutes when we are 3 up is a waste and the same can be said about a few others too.
now we are down to the bare bones of the squad so not going to get much rest time anytime soon.
ok Llorente don't have the best of games yesterday but more players need to step up too.

The Golden Boot has a fair bit to do with it IMO.

His legs have gone and as can be seen by his reactions to situations his timing/speed of thought has gone. Typical of a player at the end of their career.

Can anyone fill me in on why Chelsea & Arsenal will do business together but Chelsea won't do business with us?

Levy had them over a barrel re Arnesen and they had to give us I think 10 million for getting him from us. By paying us the money we cancelled the referral we had made to the FA about Chelsea speaking to Arnesen before getting our permission.

Same as with Dele getting injured yesterday and Sissoko the previous game. The squad is too injured, burnt out and not rotated enough (because of those two things and the manager's decisions) and so we are getting these injuries.

Dele has had bad hamstrings all season, maybe if the manager had a player to bring on yesterday he would have been subbed before getting that injury. What do the whole team of coaches and analysts do sitting on the bench, they should be watching for the players looking tired or likely to injure themselves with muscle injuries and tell the manager to sub them. Surely the science is there now?

One of the Central Defenders if necessary. Llorente brings nothing to the team that a statute couldn't do just as well.

Just answer the question, if you don’t want to play Llorente, who would you start?

Fair enough you don’t rate him, but he’s all we got atm and I don’t see how ripping into him after he’s first start in how long will make it any better, Personally i can see him doing well in next few games.

It’s one thing needing match practice and another to be a combination of being not good enough and ambling about. There’s been previous ITK that Poch wouldn’t pick him due to his piss poor work ethic and negative demeanour. Look at Winks’ through ball.... Llorente could have got the ball yet he just stood there like a lemon and let the ball trickle passed him. If the ball isn’t to feet he ain’t moving an inch. Even with our injuries he should only be used as a late sub if all of our plans have failed and we need to lump the ball into the box.
