Why do you think that we need to sign players so depseratley??? We have improved the squad since last season - a season where we lost in the UEFA cup q's to the winners (and our current bosses former team) and where we had good runs in other cups and finished 5th in the league.

We even managed most of last season without King.

There is no way we have taken a step backwards by employing one of the world's best coaches.

The problems with the squad this season were obvious last season. Without King we were knocked out of all the cups, and if he had not returned would not have qualified for UEFA through the league (as Jol as said).

And if we were so good last season, why replace the manager?

Our performance this season has been worse than it need have been, and worse than last season, because of the undermining of Jol’s authority as manager. But the bottom line is that the squad is not good enough, and bringing in a new manger is not in itself going to fix that.

With the change made we can start to look forwards rather than just waiting for the inevitable. I'd love to have seen Jol takeus into the CL, but it quickly became apparent that his time with us was very limited. We couldn't seriously have expected a good season after all that, and as time went on it was obviously better to get the change over with.
In my opinion we had something good, the board contrived to break it, but now they are trying to sort it out. I'll remember Jol as the man who got us crowing again, but sadly it wasn't to last. Now we have a new man in charge, new ideas and I feel very positive about that.

I'm not sure why they decided to replace Jol, probably was becasue they thought he wasn't the man to take as forward and also possible that they thought they could get a better manager in - Ramos.

Agree King helped us out defensively last season, but we played numerous games without him and won.

I think that the majority of the squad is good enough, but there are a few key positions that we really need to address. Mainly in midfield.

Feel the same. Am glad it's all finally sorted, but won't be palpably more positive until we start turning things around on the pitch. Feel a bit in limbo now, who knows what comes next. We shall see

Have to say I am feeling very positive. I thought Sevilla played some of the best football against us last season. It was based on a well structured midfield and attacking wingers, and if we can get that I will be very happy.

Got to be more positive.

On this wonderful fairground ride known as the mighty Spurs Roller Coaster we have just plummeted vertical down into the water trough and now, soaked and shivering, we can start the slow climb to the stars, well....upwards at least.

A lot more positive

What's done is done. We all love Jol and wish him well but at the end of the day we are supporters of the team.

Ramos isn't a manager I know a great deal about, but almost everything I've read about him has left me feeling good. I know that he will work the team hard and will seperate the men from the boys.

Onwards and upwards. COYS!

Extremely positive. Even waking up this morning something felt immediately different, I was looking forward to the next Spurs match!

I read somewhere the other day that someone thought our strikers got Jol out of more than one or two holes last season rather than it being the other way around, and now this season with the strikers stuttering a little it shows.

I am always the optimist, but I genuinely feel good about the rest of the season and think the board deserve a pat on the back for making such a courageous decision and not just sticking with 'a decent bloke'.

I think that given the choice between the 2 managers at this precise moment in time most fans/clubs in the world would rather pick Ramos. I just think the press are kinda gutted we actually got him, even after the Getafe game a couple of reporters were telling me that I was having a laugh about him coming to the Lane.

You're absolutely right, LOL, people talk about the roller-coaster ride but we're definitely more of a Log-Flume. A Log Flume on a wet October day.

More positive. The speculation is over and everything is in place.

I'm not expecting miracles but I'm confident that things will improve.

After last week: The poor handling by the club of Martin Jol and Sundays defeat against Blackburn, it was Same O'l Spurs for me.

But

After darkness there is light and with our new backroom staff in place and the games coming up, I'm starting to feel more positive... COYS.

It's true what they say: A week is a long time in Politics and Football. (The King Is Dead Long Live The King.)

very positive and relieved that we finally have what we need and deserve as a manager.

i expect us to stabilize until the end of the season & then after having spent heavily in both winter and summer windows we will be back in the top 5 group for next season.

COYS

I'm definately more positive. Ramos comes accross as a Sir Alex type which is what Spurs need. With Hughton gone aswell the whole atmosphere in training etc should be different- hopefully for the better. With Jol I dont think we were really expecting a change - some occasionally excellent football yes but still letting in silly goals and rarely being able to make a comeback - We will defo see a change now.
