Keeper should have blocked it with his leg.

We got a great chance of winning the thing now... providing some of the moe senior players can motivate themselves for this competition.

The turning point in that game was the Scholes/Hernandez substitution. The commentator claimed it was a positive attacking substitution, but in fact it had a negative impact and put Utd on the defensive, whilst giving Liverpool a foothold in the game from which they began to press Utd back for the first time.

I comment on it because very often you hear people suggesting the set-up which includes the most attacking players is the most attacking set-up, but this shows that without the right blend of attack and defence you have the opposite effect. Very often having an extra hard-working, CM prepared to always put the effort in to get goal-side and to press and attempt to tackle the opposition makes your side more offensive, even if his attacking skills are sometimes less than those of the player he plays instead of.

Southgate says with both Manc clubs out it presents a great chance for Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool... Looks like we'll have to win the FA Cup unnoticed as well...

Man utd were on the backfoot before that sub, and the Liverpool goal came from what is essentially a hoof. Man utd by brining on Hernandez where going 4-4-2 a change from a formation that was essentially a 4-5-1 with the wingers and Park a little further forward. Man utd had a lot of possetion but were failing to create enough chances, and when they did they were very wastefull, it was an offensive substitution, and in my view the right one.

I'm glad both Manchester sides are out, we're the best side left in it now. Huge chance for us.

Liverpool will have no Suarez for our game since they beat United today.

Incorrect. The ban started with the league game at Man City on Jan 3. They have since played Oldham, City x2, Stoke, Bolton and Man U, so he only has one match left of the ban, Wolves away on Tuesday. He's back for our game.

I noticed that as well, alot of teams living off history rather than the present - Southgate probably hasn't looked at the league table for a while.

The booing of Evra was disgusting.

I shook my head on more than one occasion. The 'only one Luis Suarez' chant was particularly vile.

I'd quite like Arsenal or Liverpool at home actually, would be funny to knock them out... Obviously Stevenage or Crawley at home would be the best draw, and something like Arsenal v Chelsea would be very nice for erm, ITV... :shifty:
