Our loss is Everton's even bigger loss. He won't be missed.
See, I just don't understand this. If Everton sell him in the summer, then that's it, it's out of our control? We've effectively given Dele away?If Everton have any sense, they simply sell him to Newcastle in the summer for £10m.
For our part, it was effectively a free transfer. Incredible, when you think what he was worth 3 years ago.
Then the next summer, we buy him off newcastle for £15m.
Everton have played 20 games and they are still in the cup, so in theory if he's picked for all 18 remaining league games, even if coming on as sub and at least 2 in the FA Cup if they get through 2 or 3 rounds we get our first £10m at the end of the season. If not we have to wait till next season, surely there must be some contingency if they just sell at the end of the season and he's not appeared in 20 games.....
Ah, I hadn't thought of that, I couldn't remember him playing but that must have been a reflection of how he influenced the game, and from memory it was not by very much and in keeping with the reasons as to why he is now at Everton. This does confirm we won't get the £10m until at least next season. That's all well thought out....
But Dele is cup tied in the FA cup as played for us in the last round.
There’s no way Levy & Co would let themselves be mugged off like that.See, I just don't understand this. If Everton sell him in the summer, then that's it, it's out of our control? We've effectively given Dele away?
I can't believe for one second that's what we've agreed to. But I also don't know how we can stop Everton selling him at market value, which will surely be higher than nothing.
Am completely confused ???
Yep, it seems punitive sell on clauses are the way round thisThere’s no way Levy & Co would let themselves be mugged off like that.
I am sure there are sell on clauses that would be triggered if such a scenario arose.
