One more week to apply for tickets if anyone's interested. I've put in for 11 matches (games I can get to with a reasonable chance of featuring England or Ireland), be interested to see if I get any or not, hard to tell how strong the demand is.

think it will kill the festival feel of the tournament

Agree. A really shit decision to split it up like this IMO.

Also, and I appreciate that this is a fairly minor point, but having it split like this means that all the hosts (well, except fucking Baku) are cities that everyone sees/knows anyway and cities that always have big events going on. Part of the thing about hosting a tournament is that the whole country gets to take part so e.g. for the WC just gone it wasn't all in Moscow/St Petersburg instead it was spread out so we got to see some of the other cities of Russia that don't get quite as much coverage usually, and likewise they got to host big events that they wouldn't normally get. SPreading it around across multiple countries like this just means that each host country has put the game in one of the same old big cities that always have shit like this going on, which is a real shame IMO. Like I say, I appreciate that that's only a minor point but it matters to me :D

I actually really like the idea TBH, multiple cities hosting the tournament, at least it allows fans to apply for tickets without travelling and even then if they can't get tickets the hosting cities will still have the festival feel.

Anyone apply for ballot tickets? I got a couple for the Round of 16 game at Wembley, which will be England should we top the group.

got 2 tickets for both semi finals and 1 group game at Wembley. Fucking expensive though, so I'm not sure I will bother. I applied but didn't expect to get through!

Got two group games at Wembley plus last 16 ticket, plus two games in Rome, will be selling atleast one of them on. Considering they are claiming over 19 million people applied. Between the 4 of us who applied we all got tickets to at least one game

I only applied for the final as it's the only date I can guarantee I won't be working. I was unsuccessful.

What could possibly go wrong with running a tournament across a continent?

It's probably better than just having it in one country in this regard - which would create a much bigger hotspot. Just imagine Italy were hosting it on their own. At least this way if it is e.g. mainly Italy their games could be moved pretty easily to a backup venue (which is Cardiff IIRC). And in the worst case scenario where there's a major pandemic affecting the whole continent the tournament very likely just gets postponed/cancelled with way.
