Wouldn't be shocked if Bayern at least enquire given James is leaving this summer.

Lo Celso deal virtually done I reckon :
https://www.skysports.com/football/...o-celso-keen-on-move-to-tottenham-this-summer

Eriksen's mind has certainly been somehwere else a few matches towards the end which didn't do him any favours if he was putting himself in the shop window. That's why I think his move is already sorted (Real Madrid) and Lo Celso will come in. Spurs have said he can go but needed time to fill the gap.

Time will tell if I'm right.....(y) (Trouble is after 5 minutes this post is set in stone and I'll look a right plonker if I'm wrong.....ahh well, wouldn't be the first time).

Yet, they don't really compete do they....

Ten-year European record (UEFA Champions League unless indicated otherwise)
2016/17: round of 16
2015/16: quarter-finals
2014/15: quarter-finals
2013/14: quarter-finals
2012/13: quarter-finals
2011/12: UEFA Europa League group stage
2010/11: UEFA Europa League round of 16
2009/10: did not take part in UEFA club competition
2008/09: UEFA Cup quarter-finals
2007/08: did not take part in UEFA club competition

I said could.

Bayern or PSG i see as the best he can hope for.

I just don't think he's good/consistent enough to get to play in a position/formation at Barca or Real that would suit him.

Honestly think he would struggle at Real.

Fair enough.

They just don't seem to turn their wealth and quality of players in to European succes. Then again nor do City. ?
Exactly but players will see City can compete at that level.

Writing PSG off as a club simply for mercenaries is off the mark, I am aware it wasn’t you doing that.

i dont care who Eriksen is good enough to play for just that there is a bidding war and they pay way to much!

with only 12 months left on his contract don't see it going much above £40/45m TBH.

If his agent can already talk to interested foreign clubs (maybe not until January?) wouldn't be surprised if they told him to wait it out.

With just one year left on his contract however, what would fee would we be hoping for? Difficult one to gauge because for me he effects games more than Coutinho but because Eriksen is so laid back quiet he isn't seen as a superstar so the bids might not be what we hope for.

Will depend on the wealth of the clubs and how much they want him.

There are numerous cases of players with short contracts still going for high fees.

Teams with the super wealth are not always willing to wait and are looking to get what they want over value for money.

I really hope a big club comes in for him and he moves on. He's been a great servant but for me both club and player are at a point where they need something different. We need a much more imposing playmaker for the next chapter.

Maybe he is not what we need for our revolution...we need winners and like I said in another post he isnt a winner , just wants to play in a team that wins...if you want a new challenge ..stay and win something...

If there's more than 1 club involved it will spark a bidding war and the price will increase

Also Hazard is said to be leaving Chelsea for near enough £100m

To the contrary, he'd be perfect in a rebuilt and refocused RM

I don't see them building a team around him, so is he going to be in a front 3? probably not, so will probably play in a fixed CM3 position (if Zidane keeps same formation he has throughout his RM career)
Right of a three the fans will be all over him after they realize he can't run with the ball, left even worse and centrally would be the only position i could see it working and that will be one that all the CM/AMs at the club want.

The fans are quite demanding, and a few iffy performances can end your time there even early on...

I think it will most likely be some sort of highly convoluted deal that brings Bale our way on a hugly subsidised wage. Has 'undisclosed' written all over it.

Several people have posted that they hope this gets done early in the transfer window. I can't see how that's remotely likely. We have a player who is obviously ambivalent about leaving, is not barracking disruptively for a move and says he might change his mind and sign a new contract.

He obviously has a very short list of suitors whom he would consider "a step up" - perhaps 4-6 teams, maximum. If any of those teams are in England, the chairman is likely to rule them out. That leaves the two major Spanish clubs, Bayern, Juventus and PSG. Serie A isn't enough of a draw anymore and I'm not sure about Ligue 1 either. Barcelona are sorted in his position. That leaves Real Madrid, alone.

The chairman wants an emperor's ransom for the deal and we know he doesn't reduce his asking figures in July, nor even in early August.

What evidence, other than wishful thinking, would suggest a quick deal here?

I'm not sure a club playing in the Europa League would represent "a step up" for Eriksen. He's not 21. These are his peak years. He needs to be winning stuff now, not in 3 years when Solskjaer has sorted United out.

I think the idea of selling a player of Eriksen’s potential worth quickly to be unlikely.

Unless a team comes in with a huge offer straightaway then there will be negotiation and possibly other teams getting involved.

Someone who knows more about these things than me; if RM buy Hazard, does that mean they will still need Eriksen?
