He didn't deny it on twitter a bit ago when asked he just said we are looking at good players abroad and England then added stating the obvious I know but in negotiations

We may not buy Costa this summer, but he's not an unrealistic target. The profile of our club has changed massively over the last two years.

He is the sort of player we need.

Ability wise maybe. Attitude wise, definitely not.

Yeah I'm not sure about this one. Terrific ability but...

Big money, bit of a Billy Big Bollox, and a history of knee injuries.

Gets my 90s Spurs antenna twitching...

If we signed him, we'd have one of the best wingers in the premier league. To say he shits all over Zaha is a massive understatement. If he is willing to knuckle down and work for the team, he would be such an asset.

Statistically he doesn't really shit over Zaha though (at least the Zaha of this season). He's not been a prolific scorer or assister for Bayern despite playing for such a dominant side. And he doesn't work that hard either. Which is probably why he lost his place to a 32 year old Ribery.

Do you think Zaha would get into Bayern's team?

I think that the way Zaha was playing this season a lot of major European clubs would have taken notice. There's a reason Bayern are going for Sanchez though - Ancelotti doesn't really develop players - he likes to put together teams of fully realised, experienced players.

Agreed. There's no shame in missing out to Ribery, though. The guy is a Bayern legend and is still an amazing player. Just looked at Ribery's stats and he got 5 goals and 11 assists in 14 starts, can't argue with that sort of productivity really.

Costa is a devastating player on his day and if he was starting regularly at a club like Spurs, I think he would be destroying defenders week in week out.

He's got great talent no question - I just have doubts over his consistency, knee injuries and his appetite to work like a dog, Poch style.

Not sure if it's ITK or not, but BEN on FTL started a post this morning asking...

:woot:

and so it begins....hahaha. Would love it and to be fair i think we'd have a genuine chance if he was on our radar. You'd have to think though that without some prior contact there's no way poch would go for him given his attitude.

Yeah big pitch at Wembley as well, we really need someone like that who can run in behind and stretch the game
