From the Youtube vid it looks like the Romanian League is fast and physical and more similar to our own than many others. Could just be Youtube goggles syndrome though.

:singing:
Dennis Man, Dennis Man, galloping through the sward,
Dennis Man, Dennis Man, and his horse Concorde.
He steals from the rich and gives to the poor,
Mr Man, Mr Man, Mr Man.

Worst superhero name ever...

His special ability is to be able to consistently get away with telling people his name is Dennis, even though his name is actually Steve.

EVIL VILLAIN: Who dares try and enter my lair?
TRUSTY SIDEKICK: I'd like to introduce you to my mate Dennis.
EVIL VILLAIN: Dennis? He doesn't look much like a Dennis...I'd have had you pegged as a S,,,S,,,Simon or wait, maybe a Sam...?
DENNIS MAN: - Yeah don't worry, I get that all the time. It's just Dennis though. Named after my grandfather. I can show you my ID if you want?
EVIL VILLAIN: Oh no, don't be silly. I'll take your word for it, come on in. Say, do you want to hear all about my plan to destroy the world?
DENNIS MAN: :pompous:

Yes I'm bored and have too much time on my hands. Fuck off :cautious:

@KETTERING SPUR
I know you are new here but it's poor form to give a dislike when someone is just posting info in the transfer thread. If you don't like the player then make a post and say so but don't shoot the messenger or people will stop posting information (y).

I remain sceptical when it comes to Romanian players.

Although not a perfect method, I usually go to a national team's wiki page and view the 'Current squad' and 'Recent call-ups' to see which clubs a nation's players play for.

This usually gives a good indication of how competitive it is to get into the national team, and the general standard of home-grown players in the country.

You also have to factor in the outlying 'excellent' player, who is generally a superstar for a smaller country.

Again, not perfect, but it's a start.

Anyway, Romania don't seem like a particularly strong out-fit:

Not sure when they last produced a top-drawer player?

Cheers, someone gets it. Not many top-tier players have come out of Romania since Hagi in the 90's (or whenever).

Off the top of my head I can only think of 2; Cristian Chivu and Adrian Mutu, with the latter having obvious off-the-pitch issues. He was still a talent, however.

Kind of a stupid way to look for talent if you’re simply going by nationality.

By that method we wouldn’t have Son and would never be interested in players like Pulisic.

And by “kind of” I mean it’s an incredibly stupid way to gauge talent.

Not the same thing. This dude is 20 years still playing in Romania. Son was a talent already poached by Hamburg and developed by Leverkusen. I still don't think we should take punts on young South Koreans playing in the South Korean league.

I'd rather we just take good players wherever they're at.

I'm not saying this guy is - I know nothing about him, but I personally don't really give a damn where we find our gems.
