Dembele is concerned about his role at the club given his lack of playing time under Pochettino last term.

Train harder, play better and make yourself undroppable is what i'd be telling him if I was Poch!!

At least his attitude is getting there. He's worried about lack of playing time. Wish others were so concerned!!

Dembele needs to buck his ideas up. Dembele needs to ask himself, 'Am I a decisive factor in football matches?' If he's honest, then he will realise the answer is 'no' & he needs to address that, then he will be a first-team player.

Everything about him needs to be a few gears higher: he has great dribbling ability, however he is laboured in possession as he never seems to release the ball quickly enough. He has a great ability to ghost past players without seeming to have the pace requisite for such an action, however he doesn't seem to do it enough. Dembele is incredibly 'safe' as a ball-player considering the attributes he possesses. Very little of his work is penetrative & is all about just recycling the ball without end product.

It just all needs to be better from a player capable of so much more.

Too late, he's a 15 million pound player his attitude should have been there from day one. I'd rather have Mason over him any day of the week, even though Mason has less ability, he does have the drive to improve at least.

I wont argue the fact it should have always been there but at least he does now seems to have realised it's down to him to rectify

Other players would kill for his skill and strength. But he always looks like he could do with a strong captain giving him a kick up the backside every 10 minutes. If only you could put Mason's desire into Dembele's body.

One advantage is he no longer has to compete with Paulinho and Capoue. The ability is there but sometimes the application doesn't seem to be.

Big, powerful, glides effortlessly with the ball, hard to knock off possession.... All creditable factors
Reality, little to no goal threat. Poor decision making. Too ponderous once it comes to delivering a telling pass of the back of one of his jaunts upfield. Too many 'Scotty Parker' 360's near the box. Not to mention niggling fitness issues.
In short, no end product.
I'd love it if a solid summer put him back on the right path, but I'm not confident. I kind of wonder if it's time to sell him and move on.

Another player who has went backwards since joining us.
id say not. He was always like this we just watch him more now. Much better played up the pitch where beating a man is actually useful. Id play him on the right cutting in.
