There plenty of instances of players with broken wrists playing with a lightweight plastic cast ........ on their wrists!!

'Lightweight plastic cast'
for goodness sake.
You'll be demanding face masks
for broken noses next.

Person up people.

He was just about to get subbed too when it happened. Very annoying.

Let’s hope that Dier photo is real because it probably means he’s back in full training too.

Interesting time for him with Spurs and England and exactly where he fits into the formation. Wonder whether he may be looking at now having to play a deeper role for club and country especially if we strengthen in attacking areas.

Hope not. His attacking ability (ala Frank Lampard) is the best asset of his game.

We need to get him back into the position where his late arrivals into the box etc can be properly utilised.

Doing anything else with him is, in my opinion, a, waste of his natural talent.

Onions.

I agree. Furthermore he just takes too long on the ball if he plays deep and gets dispossessed. Those skills against city would have made him look very foolish if they didn't come off.

Couldn't agree more.

I'm not proclaiming the lad as thick, he isn't, but he seems much better as a player when he isn't given time to think & just acts on instinct.

As I said, ala Frank Lampard, with his spooky ability to either arrive in the box at exactly the right time, or find space in there when there doesn't appear to be any. Those sort of things come naturally, they aren't & can't be coached.

Let the lad do what he does best.

Pretty awful today. He's a goal scoring midfielder, not a deep lying ball playing one. He's being played out of position, and he's nothing like as effective.

Dele is about 75% imo fit cut him some slack people.
He’s stepped in early and for longer per match to help the team.

I don't think it's a fitness issue, he's been off the boil for over a year now. I think the issue is that he doesn't really have much of a football brain. Whilst the likes of Gerrard, Lampard Fabregas Modric etc were/are constantly aware of what's around them and know what to do with the ball before they've even received it, Dele hasn't shown he has that sort of awareness recently. He's more than capable of playing one or two touch football and moving into space, he's done it before. I honestly believe it's an issue with his application due to having such a meteoric rise at such an early age. He hasn't had to graft for it. The argument that he should be playing further up the pitch is a valid one but unless we only play that system for the foreseeable future then Dele is going to find himself on the bench because he can't be trusted with the ball.

thought he was playing the best he ever has around the middle part of the season, then he got that injury at everton from pickford and he hasn't been right since. not been helped by a couple of other injuries but right now he's not playing very well at all, so slow and sloppy in pretty much everything he does, unfortunately though given all the players we have out at the moment we have little choice but to keep playing him.
