Christian Poulsen said: "For me, he is a winner. Everybody who works with around him would say that. He's really professional, he has been building things up here the last four years at Ajax.

He won't get that long at Spurs.

Redknapp got 4 didn't he? Jol hot what, 3?
It was only AVB and R###s that were very short and fully bloody justified.

Ramos, Redknapp, AVB and now it sounds like Sherwood. It's almost one Manager every two seasons (i guess). Nothing like continuity to build a side. If we sign a player on any sort of decent contract chances are that he will likely play under three different managers. Please someone out their tell me this is the way forward?

It will be the way it goes until we find the right man I'm afraid . Redknapp had his chance then went and signed Saha and Nielsen . AVB was just not the right man for the club ( personally liked him ). Hopefully frank is given time I believe he could be the man to take us to the next step .

Ffs, Ramos and AVB were fucking hopeless. The longer they stayed the worse we'd get. Why can't people understand it?
All the time in the bloody world doesn't make a shit manager a good manager.
Levy was completely right to bin both of them.
Sherwood was, is and always will be a caretaker manager. He was never ever ever not a million years of this life or the next ever intended to be in charge after this season.

So that leaves;
Hoddle. Got just over two full seasons. Took us nowhere and we ended up getting worse.
Santini. Guy walked, didn't fancy it, not done much since.
Jol. Sacked during his 4th season whereby we'd got very good but were starting to wane badly.
Ramos. Fucking. Useless. ****.
Redknapp. Did absolutely wonders. Unlike some people I will forever cherish the FOUR seasons we got out of him.
However, he did have problems. Notably a complete lack of the notion of squad rotation. Zero ability to scout or how to keep fringe players happy, always burned out during the end of the season, couldn't shut the fuck up and that whole saga with the England job, that was disgraceful. Don't forget Rosie and the tax man.
AVB. Ramos.
Tim. David Pleat.

This theory we don't give them the time they deserve is a myth. Everyone has been given the time they've earned.

It will take a summer and about 5 games playing the right system with our best players to turn us around

Here's the bet.

Any amount of money you want towards SC.

I will bet you that we don't finish in the top four next season whoever the next Messiah is.

Double your bet, and i say that whoever takes over will not better this seasons points total.

"A summer and five games" my arse as Jim Royale would say.

Just a bit of realism here... I have a bad feeling that Barca will get rid of their coach this year as they have not had a good season. Frank de Boer was a Barca great. If they come calling he will go there.

None of those managers were good enough. What do you want to do? Give them more time to screw up? Sorry but if they can't do the job then it's no good keeping them. Once we get someone who's actually up to it then obviously we won't sack them lol.

every club no matter who sack a manager they feel is not up it
before ferguson unt at regular periods got rid of under achievers
fergie goes ;in comes moyes does not reach expectations;;sacked
chelsea sacked a man who won them the double for christ sake
liverpool sacked a god in the eyes of there fans;;dalgliesh
man city got rid of mancini when there was a slight wobble
we sack a man whose not thought up to it and all hell breaks loose
i say that apart from jol every man that danny boy sacked he was correct
we need to select the right man it sounds easy but sometimes you need a bit of good luck in your choice of manager
and by god are we due a bit of luck
there is not a chairman that has not sacked there manager who in their eyes was not up to it;or if they did stand by there man they were rewarded with relegation

You are probably right but you could have said the same about Liverpool twelve months ago.

Maybe it isn't but having the wrong manager in place isn't the way forward either.
