Hardly a host of players. Our players overall have been disappointing at the World Cup. It appears that their club form has carried over to the tournament. Paulinho has failed to impress, Vertonghen, Dembele and Chadli haven't shown much and were all dropped for the last game and Ekotto was woeful for Cameroon not to mention his little spat.

I have been pleased with Bentaleb though. He has not looked at all out of place at this level. Lloris has also looked assured for France although not tested a lot as yet. There wasn't a lot he could do with the 2 goals he conceded.

Yep. The World Cup does seem to be something of a sideshow. I am pleased that Suarez has at last come to the party, his hunger undiminished. I joked with a friend that he would either bite an England player or handle the ball into the England net.I was wrong. But great fun, nonetheless. The boy is just misunderstood.

It would be very easy to play against Suarez, if he stays in England, which I doubt. All one has to do is to taunt and provoke him, and he'll be suspended for the better part of the entire season.

I agree with what you wrote, but is tangential to his (bloody obvious) point, which is that the players can benefit from the experience. They don't have to excel in order to learn.

then still top the goal scorer charts.

He is an enigma. What can you do as a club about him? IMO nothing. He is talented enough that the fans and the authorities would just shout and then leave him alone.
