This may not be the most exciting transfer rumour of the window, but it is one of the most feasible:
1) Homegrown - we ideally need to sign a couple this summer.
2) Only 21, with lots of potential - the kind of signing Poch likes (+ prospects for increased resale price will keep Levy happy).
3) We are unlikely to be competing with all the big European clubs, so transfer fees and wages will be more sensible.
4) Creates competition for places, but will probably accept being predominantly a sub / rotation player at first.

5) He signed a new contract like 2 months ago

That's hardly a showstopper. It means we won't get him for a reduced fee due to his contract running out, but he'll still be cheaper than plenty of other comparable targets.

Thiago Silva signed a 5-year contract with AC Milan 12 days before moving to PSG.

Also I think someone mentioned it was only improved salary, the length of the contract stayed the same which I think is two years

What on Earth makes you think he’ll be cheaper?

Clearly a good prospect but for me it would be a bit worrying at the kind of money being talked about.
