Daniel Alves is set to become Juande Ramos' first major signing for Tottenham.
The 24 year-old Brazil star played for Ramos at Sevilla and is lined up to move to White Hart Lane in a £15million deal.
Ramos, who arrived in London yesterday, has been promised a £40million transfer kitty by Spurs.
Alves was wanted by Chelsea in the summer but they refused to meet the £20million asking price.

But Alves, who can play in midfield or as a right-back, is now set to make his move to London to link up once again with the man who made him one of the hottest properties in world football

PLEASE GOD let this true this would be a major coup if we got him i would welcome him with open arms

I get pissed off trying to watch Chimbonda defend, im sure Alves would be quite similar though im pretty certain he'd have a better final ball than Chimbo!

I have wanted a Brazilian at spurs for a long time though so bring it on!

Way more plusses than minuses on this one. Alves is quality, much better than Chimbs, he is a cocky little git (which we need) and will provide a boost to all the players and fans with such an exciting signing.

I find it hard to believe Sevilla will let him go, especially to us. It seems it is just obvious paper talk and than Ramos will have to sign players who aren't from Sevilla. Still it would seem the days of playing four central midfielders are well and truely over. We will play with wingers and stretch teams and I fully expect Ramos to rebuild the midfield with power, pace and drive.

Would be pretty awesome, but I think Chimbonda is plenty good enough. Sure he can't defend, but Tottenham aren't supposed to defend much.

He can't really attack much either, completely overrated.

alves is quality but WE DON'T NEED HIM. If w have that reported 40m we should spend 10m for each position on international players and NOT "ONE FOR THE BLOODY FUTURE"

We need

A Goalkeeper (_________)
An experienced central defender (________)
A creative central midfielder (________)
A creative left footed left winger (VICENTE)

A Goalkeeper (_Palop_)
An experienced central defender (_Lucio_)
A defensively minded central midfielder (_Appiah_)
A creative left footed left winger (Kerlon)

We need a defensive midfielder with bags of energy, not a creative type.

Fantastic player, would be an amazing signing, but I don't believe it! Would Del Nido let us take his manager and his star player at once? Would he balls! If Chelsea couldn't manage to pinch him I don't think we will.

Typical journo bull - we'll be linked with half the Sevilla squad this season.

Oh and Dani Alves is a bit of a **** so I'd rather not get him unless he's absolute world class.

It depends on what formation Juande decides to adopt.

Alves would be a great wing back, but not so much a full-back. Just like Chimbonda.
