"Answer a survey to read this content".

Fuck. Off.

Not @ the OP
It's just the questions from the Nasdaq q&a he did with Ledley earlier today, there's a thread somewhere but the video's about an hour long. I gave up after about 20 mins.

We are so lucky to have that man guiding us to a safe tomorrow.
I think we are the best run club in England.
And so refreshing after reading what Wallace and Grommit have to say about the Spammers' academy.

Quote from Jose tonight:
"Everybody speaks about the dimension of the investment at Man City [so far just below £220m] but there is another team that I feel the dimension of their investment is also phenomenal – Tottenham. Until now they spent zero pounds, right? They keep everybody they want to keep. They keep Dele Alli, [Harry] Kane and [Toby] Alderweireld, they keep Eric Dier, they keep everyone they want to keep."

If we can upgrade for a reasonable price we should do. If we can't we shouldn't.

I think that we have the money to upgrade, at least to make the squad stronger. But i'd rather give youth a chance than buy a stanbouli.

Said in another thread yesterday that I thought the spending by other clubs is unsustainable.
I think we are an extremely well run club financially and heading in right direction, growing year on year, building our brand year on year and with a new stadium just around the corner that will boost the coffers in the future it's all looking rosey.
I just hope when the time comes the income we generate allows us to compete with the wages on offer elsewhere and if players heads are turned it's because of footballing reasons not financial, we have to bridge that gap if we want to continue to compete at the top.

I'd rather see Toby sign a new deal than see us bring in any of the players we have been linked with.

Though it was only a friendly tonight, after looking at one or two players performances Levy should have is phone set to speed dial this next few days and fuck the expense.....

Well it clearly is completely sustainable for city and Chelsea. And united. And arsenal are well within their means.

So not really sure who he's referring to here, Liverpool maybe?

I'm guessing he means football's overall revenue stream, namely the TV money

If that dries up, then a lot of clubs will be left with highly paid players on their books, who they can't really afford

Additional to that, there will be a certain amount of transfer deals across Europe structured with installment payments over a number of years. This will be another burden on clubs and made even worse if the value of the transferred player has dropped considerably

These two areas will cripple clubs, as they represent continued expenditure

With regard to transfer fees, although spending £200million that you actually have to hand won't cripple you (you actually have the money - you haven't borrowed it), it does represent a failure in terms of 'opportunity cost'

Basically, you had £200million and you chose to invest it in something that depreciated in value as soon as you bought it, as opposed to add value to your investment

This will mainly effect clubs who choose not to spend on infrastructure and other high-value projects, when they have the cash to hand right now in the 'good times', instead favouring to spend on expensive signings and wages

Sorry but this also is unsustainable.

What do you mean within their means?
The Scum and Shitty are in the red year-in-year-out. You just have to ask yourself when the owners say enough is enough. Probably never, but to say they are within their means is ludicrous.
Fair point on Arsenal, but I think they are also heading for that spiral. You give one player astronomical wages, and watch the rest of the loyal legion start a mutiny.
No, what we have is a PROJECT the players BELIEVE in. And POCHETTINO. Take him away and the wheels snap right off.

Utterly depressing read. We need to improve the overall quality of the squad. The gap between the first choice 11 and some of the understudies is too big - that is plain to see.
New players are absolutely essential. Levy should just focus on bringing them in, instead of acting like a sage and berating other clubs. Who'll have the last laugh if they finish above us?

Most of the understudies are players that we've bought. What makes you think that we'd do better?
As i said i'd like to improve the squad but don't want to buy for the sake of it.

We will when they go into a spiral of unsustainable spending.
Leeds?
Besides, you start disrupting the balance and spirit of the team with "stars" and the end result goes bad and quick.

Interviewer: 'So Mr Levy, would you like to tell us what is Spurs' transfer policy this window?!!

Levy: 'Smithers!! Release the hounds!'

Its a good policy. Man City effectively bought a CL place next year and Chelsea swapped Morata for Costa. Man Utd bought Lukaku in for Ibra. We are pretty much the same.

When the person running your club is by profession an accountant and merge that with the fact that the definition of his surname means (quite literally) .......
Levy : A a sum of money that you have to pay, for example as a tax to the government.

It seems obvious that we will not be a football club that irresponsibly throws vast sums of money about during the transfer market.
Many talk about his miserly attitude but with this guy in charge then we are in very safe hands financially.
