Spurs looking to spend ambitiously after years of being smart with their money

Ange Postecoglou’s Tottenham are too entertaining for fans to still be venting at Daniel Levy during matches, but scratch just below the surface on social media or speak to enough supporters and it is not hard to find lingering resentment towards the chairman.

Maybe it’s all finally coming to fruition for the bald one and he’s going to have the last laugh. If PSR is enforced Spurs are going to be one, if not the only, club to reap the benefits, something Levy has banged on about for years.

Watch out for the conspiracy bollocks from other fans.

It was all a cunning plan to put us through years of misery.

Re FFP. Why is it baring its teeth now? What’s triggered the action. We’ve been talking about it for years and nothing has really happened, so why now?

Don't forget it's based over a three year period.

The rules changed slightly a while back to bring them more into line with Uefa, and then of course Covid threw a big spanner into the works and clubs were allowed to factor in certain allowances basically pushing it back further. The biggest problem though is that spending went up massively last season with everyone trying to keep up with the Jones'(Chelsea) and that had a trickle down effect. Wages are the true killer.

It was always there mate and it was always coming to this point, it's just taken time for it to push clubs up close to the edge because of the Covid years.

There can be no sympathy for any of the clubs hit as the reg's have been in place for a long time and clearly ignored. They haven't cut their cloth accordingly and now they are either awaiting punishment, or they are in full panic mode that they will.

Really is going to be fascinating to watch this all unfold. Any ideas of potential scenarios? We've read here about teams selling their players just to cover costs or meet certain budgets, but then what? A complete overhaul of their transfer / wage budgets?

Enforcing strict PSR Rules doesn't make sense for the majority of PL Clubs as it restricts their ability to challenge the top 6 clubs. In fact, we are probably one of the only clubs that benefit from having PSR strictly enforced.

I therefore won't be surprised when a vote is taken to ease PSR Rules and we are then back to square one.
