If he does well for them this season, we should buy him next year. Hilarious.

This wouldnt be outside the realms of possibility. If Eriksen signs a new deal with the supposed hundred million clause, and Madrid come in for him next summer, they could well use Ceballos as a bargaining tool to get the price down a tad if all parties were interested. Nice to let Arsenal give him a test run for us.

If Ceballos was there to sign permanently I would be very disappointed. But to build a player up for a year with no certainty of buying is complete desperation.

It's the sort of thing Chelsea would be all over and with them having a transfer ban they'll no likely be spending big next year. Don't think we'll want him anymore

If he’s picked them over us he’s clearly a ****

Probably been promised playing time at The Woolwich which Poch can't guarantee with us.
If we are going to go on and complete transfers of Sessegnon & Lo Celso following Ndembele just shows how important CL football is to us , as Poch said FA or League cup victories won't change this club.

The last loan for The Woolwich from a Spanish club , Suárez from Barcelona was a disaster might go the same way.

I actually do think it could prove a good move for them 'if' he brings champs league football. That could be the springboard they need to rebuild next season.
Let's hope he doesn't.

One player in midfield is not going to guarantee champions league football. They’ve still got the worst defence in the top 6-8 teams; they’ve just spunked near £30 mil on a centre back they won’t even have this season. Ceballos replaces Ramsay, who was an incredibly important player for them. Currently, they’re spending to stand still... I’m confident we’ll keep ourselves comfortably ahead of them; I’m nearly as confident they’ll struggle for top four, even if they add Zaha.

I think he'll do well for them. Looks miles better than Guendouzi and will complement Xhaka and Torreira in a more forward thinking role. I suspect he'll take a little while to adapt to the physicality and speed of the PL but you never really know - he might hit the ground running.

Either way, I don't think they have any chance of finishing above us unless their youngsters like Willock prove to be absolute world beaters. And even then, their defence looks an absolute shambles - Tierney alone won't fix that.

By all accounts they've had to move on from Tierney as they consider CL add ons 'unrealistic' :ROFLMAO:

Loaning players with no option to buy...
Shows the level Arsenal are currently at and they are getting mugged off. The fact that we arent entertaining these deals shows where we are at, long gone are the days of loaning Frazier fucking Campbell?

I'm confident we'll still be better, BUT I've never seen Ceballos play. He could be the bollocks mate. Sometimes all it takes is one player to make everyone tick.
It'll be remiss of me to say he'll be great, because as I've stated, I've never watched the lad, but just from reactions on here he seems well rated as a playmaker, which to me is a player Arsenal could do with.
Arsenal still have players and it was very tight last time out, and if this lad is a difference maker between champs league, or not, he'd be well worth it.
If we were in their position I would absolutely have a straight loan if I thought said player could propel us to the champs league. Achieve and you can consolidate next season.

They’re probably made up quotes but I hope they’re true! ?

The one you quoted is a definite fake but not sure about this one I saw this morning. Can't find the original now, but the bit in bold is a bit of a burn.

"The most important thing in life is to be happy & that can only happen by playing 40 games a year. My personal goal for next season is to play 40 games & to be comfortable at all times. Wherever it is doesn't matter, but it has to be a place where I can feel valued."

As for the buyout clause, seems a lot of Arsenal fans are saying Perez has 'promised to discuss a transfer next summer'. Rightly a lot of them consider that to be worthless.

And Perez would promise that to Spurs. But if Ceballos will be good that season he will discuss transfer in around 80m not 50 like it would probably in loan with option to buy. ;)

I like Ceballos a lot and wish he wasn't go there as I believe he'll have a positive impact. But taking a player like him on loan with no option is something you do when you're desperate and out of ideas. No way Wenger would have done something like this.

That was a bit different though wasn't it? January deadline day signing and IIRC they were in the midst of an injury crisis. It wasn't one of their biggest moves of the summer and who they are planning to replace a player like Aaron Ramsey with.

Their bid to replace their best player of the last 5 years is a loan with no option to buy. Shocking stuff. Apparently Florentino has promised they can "speak" about Ceballos next summer. LOOOOLLL

If he plays great for Arsenal then Ceballos goes back to Real with a legitimate shot of playing for them - which means Arsenal don't sign him permanently.

Arsenal's only chance of signing him permanently is if he doesn't do well enough at Arsenal that Real don't want him - in which case Arsenal won't want him either.
