Likely Spurs schedule: Thurs 24th Jan Chelsea (a) Carabao Semi 2nd leg.Sun 27th Palace (a) FA Cup 4th round..Wed 30th Watford (h)

That Watford game has dropped points all over it. If we're leggy going into that Deeney and Co will out muscle us.

How come second leg is on a Thursday? Should not be a Wednesday?

I think if we get back Dier/dembele and vertonghen it pretty much means we can rotate our entire defence/midfield with very little drop off. In fact I’m not even certain who our best full backs or CM pairing is now. It’s only really Kane Son dele eriksen where you have a noticeable drop off. Plus palace have a massive game with Southampton midweek they will prioritise.

would prefer an easier tie... but it could be worst. not a really good draw this time around. only the match against Chelsea is one of those "magical" FA cup ties.

gonna be a good match.

Reading some old stuff the other day. We lost a replay at Palace midweek in 70', 1-0.

Went to the game and remember coming home shocked at the loss. Apparently it was Jimmy Greaves last game for us....he and few other senior players were dropped as a result, and he never played another match for us, going to West Ham. Is this right?

Apart from Burnley away, I don’t think we leave the London area until Dortmund on 5th March. Lack of travel should help competing in 4 competitions.

You might want to check out the team they put out vs Grimsby...

Wayne Hennessey
Joel Ward
Pape Souaré
Martin Kelly
Scott Dann (C)
Jairo Riedewald
Max Meyer
Jeffrey Schlupp
Alexander Sørloth
Andros Townsend
Wilfried Zaha
You realise only 3 of that 11 (Meyer, Zaha, Andros) have been starting for them in the league recently? Could maybe add Schlupp to that considering I think he played at the Etihad.

The league cup game is Tuesday 22nd, isn't it?

Think it will be moved to Wednesday as we have the Fulham game that previous Sunday and need more than one full day of recovery.

Add Ward who's played at least half the games in the PL and Hennessey who's played virtually all of them, making 6 (Schlupp plays nearly every week too).

The point is, they played a far stronger side against Grimsby than they needed to.

Not a terrible draw. Pitch is Premier League quality so decent, we have a good away record and because of the Stadium fiasco it is probably better if we get drawn away!

But Palace are more than capable of producing the goods on their day so we won't get away with playing a significantly weakened team for this one.

I totally agree about not playing a weakened team if we hope to progress, the big problem will be that 1, the match will be on a Sunday, and a little like a Europa league match we play on the Thursday in the 2nd leg v Chelsea and to top it off we have Watford at home a few days after. so a very busy period, a spot in a final, and to strengthen a top 4 spot with 3 home games on the trot that are very important.

rotation will be needed, and the Chelsea match means 1 game away from an actual Final. if you had to chose what game was more important between Chelsea or Palace which 1 would you rest players for

Sørloth is due a goal tbf

don't tell me we have a friendly match v Gent of Belgium this month too:cautious: and they will use him to help match fitness

more worried the thug Wickham will play for them, who will he injure this time:mad:

For myself we don't have a big enough squad to compete on four fronts and so I would rest the main stay players and hope for the best also I don't believe that Palace will for definite play there strongest team as staying in the premier league is their priority.

He missed an open goal against Cyprus not long ago, he isn't "due" anything.
Crystal Palace forward Alexander Sørloth has joined Belgian Pro League club KAA Gent on loan for the remainder of this season.
