Tottenham and Arsenal have been advised by the Premier League that they are planning for the game to be rescheduled for the week beginning May 9, though a final date is still to be officially confirmed. The potentially crucial North London Derby has been pencilled in for the penultimate week of the season in grudge clash broadcasters are hopeful of billing as a do-or-die Champions Leaguer decider.

It was always going to be.
They weren't going to let this 6 pointer slide by.

of course sky would do that, ideally hoping that they advertise it as a 4th place playoff. Hopefully that remains the case come end of april

It will be between our games against Liverpool and Burnley then, with Arsenal playing Leeds and Newcastle either side of it.

I'm just waiting for Sky to move the Liverpool game to Sunday, so that we have less time to recover, in addition to a tougher / more draining match.

Hold it. Arsenal postponed this fixture in the first place as it was scheduled a few days after they had to play liverpool and they might have been a bit tired. But it is perfectly fine if we play a few days after playing liverpool.
Every midweek is free for us in April - there is no reason it has to be forced into this slot.

So much is riding on this game and not just 4th place.
Conte cant talk of potential national success or european success next season until we have at least held our own in our own backyard. That is the bedrock other achievements are built on.

We are the home side, and the fixture was postponed for no good reason, so surely we have a veto on when this match is rearranged?

We will have a week's preparation before the Liverpool game. Conte likes prep and he will have 6 or 7 days before 6 of the last 8 games whereas Arsenal will have the same prep time for 5 of 9 games.

The Arsenal game has to be played sometime and after Liverpool is probably better than before.

The two short prep times Conte will have will be for home games against Arsenal and Burnley.

Arsenal have had a lighter schedule (9 games fewer) than us; however, their short prep times in the run in will be for away games at Chelsea, us and Newcastle along with a home game against Man Utd.

To be fair the scheduling could be a lot worse!

All the years I've been following Spurs its always seemed to me we rather oddly do pretty well when we have a few tough games on the bounce and you fear the worst.
Its the 3 easy games on the bounce where we drop the ball.
We'll do them.
Bring it.

If you offered us the chance of a crack at them, level on games played, and almost identical goal difference and going into that game 3 points behind them in 5th place with us needing to win and them needing to avoid defeat, in front of a packed to the rafters rocking stadium atmosphere for this NLD, I'd take that right now.

I'd even take an offer of 1-1 in the NLD after 60 mins, us needing to win by 1 to go exact level pegging with them on Goal difference and points with the crowd roaring us on for a winner in the last half hour. I'd fancy us to pile on the pressure big time and let's see if they can handle it......

A cup final with home advantage what could go wrong.

Let’s hope it doesn’t matter by then and TV have scored an own goal with this.

Absolutely, and I hope we really have a go at liverpool too, eliminating them from the title race.
Let the sky viewing figures drop through the floor for the rest of May.

We will be 4 points ahead of Arsenal before they meet us at the Lane.
I hope you are right but I think it's being a little optimistic if I'm honest.

I'd take us still being in touch with top 4 and either being level on points or being 2-3 points behind and going into that home game with a chance of overhauling them by a point if they still sit in 4th or going level with them on goal difference and points with the last game to play away at Norwich.

1 game at a time but it does feel similar to how the top 4 race was in Pochettinos last full season
