Just got back from the Broadfield Stadium and can only say that if that is meant to be the future of Tottenham Hotspur then the future is Crawley Town.

We were absolutely woeful tonight, there was a good crowd in and the Spurs fans were in good voice.

The best bit of action from a Spurs player came when Clive Allen plucked a wayward goal kick out of the air and stopped it dead on his foot, before juggling it a few times and returning for a throw in.

We had maybe 1 decent chance in the first half and went in 2-0 down, bought all four outfield subs on at half time and things looked good for ten minutes. Barcham finished well to bring us back into the game and I thought it was going to be an entertaining second half and it was in a way.

Crawley scored another 4 with ease and the spurs fans resorted to singing the Addam's Family theme tune in honour of 'Lurch' the Crawley Goalkeeper. When he was subbed with ten minutes to go he got the biggest cheer of the night, not that he had done much work between the sticks.

Crawley looked half decent and we didn't look too bad going forward on occassions, but in defence we were shocking. Dervite was captain and leading the defensive line, so surely has to shoulder much of the blame.

I can't see how any of these youngster's will make it anywhere near the first team on tonight's performance. Arsenal visit Crawley at the weekend and the match report will be the main feature of the programme, I can just see them laughing at us now. In the end we were lucky to come away with a 6-1 defeat, it could have been much worse.

I am going to assume that Crawley had a team of 'Ringers' on the park, some may say i'm in denial, i say you are probably right!
