I have always liked this guy. I was banging on about him last year. I real viable option on the left. Impresses me every time I see him.

Always rated him, and was sad to see him joining Newcastle on a bargain from Le Havre. The same Club as Lassana Diarra joined from.

But he never played for Le Havre. How could you have rated him sufficiently to be sad to see him leave? Le Havre were in Ligue 2 when he was there! Do you watch the youth sides of second division Frnech teams? Or did you catch him in either of his 2 sub appearances for France U16s? You said the same about Leroy Lita when he was at Chelsea, but likewise he never even played agame for them. How can you possibly have rated players like this?

Last year i would've been more than happy to have seen N'zogbia switching North for South - genuinely talented lad who has a really precious technique. When the rumours reared their head about us being interested, i knew we weren't going to get him for any sensible price and, on reflection, i'd much rather have seen us overspend on someone like Charles than someone like Darren Bent.

Sad that the board didn't try harder to land him - we were out of the Downing fight, Joe Cole was never coming, as with Robben as Chelsea just wouldn't sell to us. Pedersen seemed to split the board, with no real word either way on if we were after him or not.

Out of all the options, N'Zogbia was the most realistic, especially considering Kaboul putting pen to paper for us and, in my opinion, would've really lit up our midfield.

The same with N'Zogbia as Lita. You are right that they did not play many games for Le Havre and Chelsea, but when you see players at a young age with that talent, you will never be in doubt. Being in the transfer market is a risk, but it is more risky to wait and buy at a later stage. You will always lose if you do not take a chance. I am a fan of taking a chance on players if you see the right attributes in them. If you take a look at Scoutingmanagement's trackrecords, we have had a right strategy.

'Not many' in this case equating to a big fat zero as first-team appearances are concerned. So how did you manage to 'see' the right attributes in them?

Can we please just stop entertaining Spursking. The more you respond the more you encourage him. The guy is an absolute headcase who's never going to give a rational reply, we've all been here long enough to know that.

Ignore him and he'll go away (or at least keep to 1 post per topic)

N´Zogbia is a skilful player. But every toon fan I know (both of them) predict a riot if they ever sold him to us.

we at scoutmanager have always rated him highly, we spotted him as a 12 year old playing in a kickabout in a park near his home, which was near the stade de france. we were scouting the world cup at the time.

Haha, busted.

I agree with many others here. I remember watching N'Zogbia a few time in his debut season and was very impressed with him, and was absolutely gutted we didn't do whatever we could to bring him in when Newcastle signed Duff.

How much do you think we'd have to put on the table for the Magpies to take us seriously though, assuming we did approach them about him?

Considering the current prices being payed amongst premiership teams, i couldn't see them doing anything but laughing unless we offered upwards of £10m and, considering our rather well publicised superb finances, i could see them pushing for nearer £15m, perhaps even more.

He's bloody good, but with the way prices are right now, i find it hard justifying pretty much every transfer between EPL teams. Maybe i'm just tight-fisted, who knows...
