The upside, and the huge potential downfall too, is Liverpool defeating Barcelona. If we were playing the final vs. Barcelona, you'd take it as a fun day out really, and if losing it would just all have been a great experience. But since the opposition is in fact Liverpool, the desire for a win is so much stronger, and so the different emotions are invested. I hope that goes for the squad as well, that the fact that it is Liverpool improves the urge to see it all the way through.
I think our manager would be more invested in beating Barcelona than Liverpool and he's the one motivating the team.

On their day, Messi and by extension Barcelona, are unplayable.

Liverpool, however, are a team we can beat. If we manage to be full strength, we can beat anyone.

Jesus Christ, I'm listening to this and the woman was talking sense then said Dortmund were shit when we faced them. I swear they were top of the league at the time. She's back talking sense but every now & then each presenter has a huge WTF?! moment

I turned it off after 2 mins

Apparently Spurs got lucky fixing their fuck ups.

But Liverpool never fucked up vs Barca, they were unlucky in the 1st leg only.

Liverpool have no weaknesses... You can't, apparently, force them into an issue, it's just them not being on form.

FFS I thought you said these yipping twits were decent? @coys200 - you were right about 1 thing, it's a good liverpool podcast... IF you're a Liverfool fan.

Ive said this before and will reiterate - that is why theyre ****s

Theyre the best, nothing else can match them, its one rule for them and one for another

We were lucky to come back v Ajax but they battered Barca

We were one goal away from being knocked out of the group stages - but they beat Napoli 1-0 the very same score that they needed...

They really do believe their own hype, had a listen to that Anfield Wrap podcast posted above and wow :wideyed:... I honestly think they’ve forgotten that we’ve finished above them 8 of the last 10 seasons.

They’re massively underestimating us

We have to beat these lot - i aint taking a loss.

The peace and quiet we would have IF we beat them - a life time of peace and happiness... we will always have that over them... no matter what happens after we win, I will always have the win as the come back to anything they fuckin offer... every time they beat us, they wont say a thing.

Peace and quiet

WE

MUST

WIN

Tbh I actually watch/listen to the Anfield Wrap quite a lot ( one of the birds is quite fit ?). I knew they wouldn’t win the league and I just wanted to see their little smug faces when they didn’t. And it was glorious. They were giving it all the 97pts stuff but the pain was etched across their faces. If we beat them it will obviously be monumental for us. But will be even sweeter to once again see their tears.

It's weird because I really wanted to face Barcelona over Liverpool and I'm not sure if it's me genuinely thinking rationally or trying to comfort myself but the more I think of it, the more I can envision us being turned over and not being able to deal with Messi on the night.

Admittedly, as much as Liverpool worry me we've proven that we can make life very uncomfortable for them. For two seasons running now at Anfield, I personally haven't seen another team end up controlling the pattern of play as much as we have there.
