I just can't stop thinking something is amiss. Both guys would've been strapped in to their seats and, if the plane is still enough intact to have Sala within it. Where is the guy who would've been in control of the plane right until the end?
Like what? I get the conspiracy theory if no persons were ever found, but if the multi millionaire ( which he must of been playing top flight football for 10 years) was trying to disappear from the world?? Or are you thinking murder? Either way, I think the fact he has been found is damning evidence that it was an accident. Why the fuck any plane that doesn’t start 3/4 times should be allowed to fly is beyond me. But, it is a totally unheard of tradagy event that happens once, like the helicopter at Leicester, just life being a complete devastation.

I was thinking the same thing really. It is kinda strange there’s no second body but perhaps it’s to do with the impact point and the position of both within the aircraft.

You can see from the one photo I've seen that parts of the aircraft were ripped open so unless the body is within the wreckage it wouldn't be the biggest surprise in the world if the body had drifted out of the aircraft. Also, it's possible that the pilot, who would have been familiar with how the buckle/strapping fitted works, successfully undid his strapping in an attempt to get out, or indeed did manage to get out whereas Sala fumbled with it and sadly failed. Cushions being washed up on a beach would suggest either are possible. There's any number of possibilities and what exactly did happen will never be known but there's no conspiracy, just a tragedy.

Exactly what I was thinking, the conspiracy theorists will have a field day with this.

Southampton plan to ban two supporters who taunted Cardiff City fans about the death of striker Emiliano Sala.

The 28-year-old Argentine died in a plane crash almost three weeks ago, with his body found on Thursday.

Two Saints fans were pictured making aeroplane gestures during their side's 2-1 home defeat by the Bluebirds and were spoken to by Hampshire Police.

"Such behaviour has no place in our game and will not be tolerated at St Mary's," a club statement read.

"Southampton Football Club can confirm that two fans were detained and had their details taken by police during our match against Cardiff City on Saturday.

"The club will continue to work with Hampshire Police to identify any individuals deemed to have made indecent gestures towards Cardiff supporters.

"The club will be taking an extremely firm stance against anyone involved and intends to ban those supporters identified."

After Cardiff's injury-time win, Bluebirds manager Neil Warnock said: "We wanted to do it for Emiliano and I'm really proud the lads have done him justice."

There were tributes and a minute's silence before the game started.

It’s people being idiots but a ban is a bit over the top. I’d be interested to see what the club could use to ban them. And for the police to detain them is heavy handed just for stupidity.

Clubs are private organisations, I'm pretty sure they can ban whoever they like as long as it's not discriminatory (e.g. sysematically/disproportionately banning ethnic minorities). They don't need a specific reason any more than the doorman at a nightclub.

The kind of **** who would do something like that is not the kind of person I would want to be associated with our club. End of. People do stupid things in the heat of the moment, I take your point, but stuff like this is so far over the line that I don't think you can realistically write it off as just a moment of madness. It's so vile it's completely beyond any kind of excuses to be honest.

Where've you got that they were taking into custody from? The article just says they were spoken to by the police, which I assume means they just had a chat to them at the game to tell them to cut it out.

It says they were DETAINED, have another read of the BBC article once you get off your high horse.

People do stupid things, other people don't HAVE to get offended by it. Just ignore it. I'm not defending them for their actions, but the need for people to completely condemn people for a moment of stupidity is ridiculous in this day and age. Like they've never done anything when young or drunk or on drugs or something.

Regarding being detained, sorry I missed that, you're right. That's my bad.

First of all though, I've never said I'm offended by it. It's a gesture about some bloke I had never heard of until a couple of weeks ago being in a plane crash. On what grounds could I possibly be offended by it? That just makes no sense because it doesn't relate to me in any way, shape or form.

As I said in my original post, I accept that people do silly things that are out of character in the heat of the moment, but that excuse can only get you so far and surely there are certain things that are just so far and away out of order that even the "heat of the moment" argument is no longer applicable? For example, in the heat of the moment at a football match, people shout all kinds of abuse at players and other fans that ordinarily they wouldn't dream of doing just walking down the street, but it's sort of accepted that in the moment at the match it's par for the course. But it's one thing calling someone a wanker and another thing entirely calling someone a Muslim ****/black bastard/singing about the holocaust or something because it's generally accepted that, regardless of the situation, it's NEVER OK to be racist. I place this incident along the same lines, it's something that's just not OK regardless of whether it was the heat of the moment or not.

To be honest, if thinking someone is a **** because they're mocking the fact that a young lad has just been killed in a horrific accident means I'm "on my high horse" then so be it. I think that says more about you than it does me to be honest mate.

Cause of death has been revealed as "head and trunk" injuries.
I would imagines immediate death on impact, which is, I think, better than fighting against drowning.

I do find it interesting that Cardiff have cancelled their warm weather trip to Tenerife in order to let the player get over the situation with their families. I doubt any of them had even met Sala yet, so didn't actually know him.
