I'm surprised no news has leaked to who the body may be. Not sure what condition a body would be in being 2 weeks under water but im sure they could tell.

I watched an interview with t he father and the way he talked about how he wanted the rescue team to get the body quickly made me think he has been told its his son. I could be wrong

Had this very discussion at work this morning. I had the exact same thoughts as you, re how much would the body deteriorate in 2 weeks.

I obviously don't know, but from the pitures of each man that have been shown on the news, with the utmost of respect, the pilot is significantly bigger than Sala.

I'm wondering if they simply can't divulge anything right now because the plane owners etc are being investigated?

Tragic, tragic occurrence. So very sad. May he rest in peace.

I thought the Cardiff tribute during their recent home game was quite something, too.

Such a devastating shame.

Shame the pilot wasn't there but glad they got sala from the bottom of the ocean so his family can have a burial

Clothing worn, personal effects, hair, height etc etc...... any number of things could be used as identifiers.

Anyhow, desperately sad state of affairs. Hope the family at least has some sort of closure.

Now it will no doubt be all about the embarrassing fight over the transfer fee.

Terrible business all round and made worse by this money business.

Have to say though why are Cardiff hiding behind the insurance payout possibilities and wanting to know who was responsible for the crash ? What has that got to do with them honouring the contract they signed with Nantes ? The only reason I can see for not paying up is there is no proof (yet) that the poor man is dead and out of respect to his family they want to delay payment.

Business is business and emotions have no place in business.

Nantes have bills to pay and probably brought a replacement who has to be paid for. Insurance will take an age to resolve this.

To be honest I think Cardiff should have kept silent on this. If the deal was done you owe the money and you leave it to your lawyers and accountants to sort behind closed doors.

I think there is more to this than we know yet and Cardiff are looking for a sympathy . What the hell was Cardiff doing allowing a mega million asset fly on such a plane in the first place?

The more we hear the more it leaves me to believe that the insurance was not in place and Cardiff have fucked up big time. Just my onions.

Terrible tragedy and our thoughts should be with both Sala's and the pilot's families at this time. Let's hope that the pilots body is found soon so that his family too can get closure.

So so sad. Would want the wreckage to be located soon and bodies found. But now it has happened, it just turned so tragic...

The missing body of the pilot will no doubt throw more conspiracy theories right into the mix unfortunately..

have to agree and we all know it was a terrible tragedy but if Cardiff had not signed the player he would not have been travelling to Cardiff so imho Nantes have every right to be looking for the first payment, yes of course there is all the insurance situation to get sorted but what has that got to do with Nantes.
also another thing with the press asking Warnock about the payments for the Sala what the hell do they think he is going to say "yes he was our player and we should play Nantes ??" he's Cardiff manager of course he is not getting involved with that situation.
its just really dumb and a disrespectful thing to be asking Warnock.

As far as I was aware (and I might be wrong), the story didn't come from the Cardiff end and the only comment they have made were as a result of the affair being made public in the first place. There are even stories about Bordeaux demanding their cut that go back 12 days or so, it seems to me that some journalist or another has been stirring the shit a bit and then it gets picked up on and it all snowballs.

Checking back, I think there's enough uncertainty over who said what, who did what and the timing of when they did it for us not to assume Cardiff, or indeed anyone else are the bad guys in all this, after all, it is a very unique situation.

If the press are to be believed then appalling bad taste is being shown by three different clubs, I'm not sure I believe any of it, or at least that we don't actually know the truth of it.

It's a shame that this has happened at all, nobody is going to come out of it well

Indeed people die all the time, life goes on and bills still have to be paid.

Not making excuses for Nantes or Bordeaux, but balancing the books in France is far more important than it is here.

I got sent, via a group whatsapp the photos of the plane. How on earth, a newly purchased asset was allowed to travel on this plane is mind boggling. I just don't get why he'd of stepped foot on that plane, I'd of rather walked (granted I'm shit scared of flying, not that it stops me travelling abroad but fuck me, no chance I'd of got in that tiny 1 propellor plane, no fucking chance)
Feel for the pilots family tbh, as @Trix said, they won't be looking for him now that Sala has been found.
Tragic, can't help but think there's something really really sinister about this & not just a tragic accident

Having just seen footage of a BA flight abandoning a landing at Heathrow this morning due to the winds, I can fully understand why this little plane would have run into major issues in the weather conditions reported at the time.
Some form of closure for Sala's family with the discovery of his body, but the pilot's family will probably never get the same.

Sad to say that if it's not in the wreckage then the pilot's remains (and there may not be much of him left at all) could be almost literally anywhere by now. I wouldn't expect him to ever be found unfortunately.

I just can't stop thinking something is amiss. Both guys would've been strapped in to their seats and, if the plane is still enough intact to have Sala within it. Where is the guy who would've been in control of the plane right until the end?

His body turned up at work today, weird that there were satellite vans and camera crews waiting to take pictures but I guess this is now the world we live in
